Chapter 11 : Heart Problems [TW]

Third Person's Point of View.

It's been two days and Taehyung still haven't forgotten about what Jimin said to him. Well, mostly because he can remember almost everything clearly.

"I'm happy too whenever I see you."

It keeps repeating on his head ever since Jimin said that to him. He's happy to know that, but at the same time, he thought that Jimin only sees him as a friend and having a company makes him happy. Well, if Jimin is happy then he's happy too.

He couldn't visit him today because he and his mother are at the hospital for his semi-annual checkup.

"Mrs. Kim, I'm afraid your son's heart doesn't have any improvement. He needs to take good care of his heart even more." Taehyung sighs as he heard that.

Taehyung has asthma and at the same time, tachycardia. Tachycardia is a type of arrhythmia, a problem with the rate or rhythm of heartbeat. It means, his heart beats too quickly or faster than normal.

Funny to think that Jimin and Taehyung were just talking about what's good for the heart last 2 days.

"Taehyung-ah," the doctor calls him so he glances at him. "Are you taking care of your heart? Literally." he asks.

Taehyung doesn't have an answer to that. It doesn't look like he takes care of his heart figuratively, as Jimin makes his heart beats even more faster, which is bad for his heart, considering he has arrhythmia. And it also doesn't seem like he takes care of his heart, literally, and even his health. Although he wakes up at 5 or 6 in the morning, as the doctor suggested, he, sometimes, doesn't eat breakfast nor take a walk outside the apartment building. His excuse? He gets tired easily.

That's the point. He needs to exercise, have a regular walk every morning and takes care of his heart and health so that he doesn't get tired easily. Taehyung's logic is sometimes... different.

"Taehyung, I think you should move back into your mother." the doctor says in a serious tone.

"But Doc, I wouldn't be able to take care of him too. I work at the home for the aged, taking care of the elderly." Mrs. Kim says.

She's a nurse in a home for the aged and she lives there too, almost. She rarely visits her own home and her son.

"You take care of the elderly but you can't do it to your son?" The doctor has a point. "Either you take him with you there or have someone to take care of him."

Taehyung sighs. He's turning 25 and he couldn't take care of himself.

"Look, if he doesn't take good care of his heart and health, his arrhythmia might lead to an another cardiovascular disease or heart disease." the doctor announces.

"Am I going to die?" Taehyung asks suddenly. He can't die. He doesn't want to die yet.

"I hope not, Mr. Kim." the doctor replies.

"Son, how about you stay with your Seokjin hyung?" Taehyung suddenly looks at his mom after hearing that.

"No way!"

"Come on, son. So he can take care of you. I'll visit you sometimes." she tries to convince him but to no avail.

"No! There's no way I'm gonna be staying with him. Nope!" he crosses his arms like a sulking child.
