Hey guys, how is it going? I hope good because here is another chapter! I am going to be improvising a little so please keep that in mind. Please read my other chapters and check out my other stories. Ok, let's get into the chapter, shall we?
Elena Andrew's Pov
I was sleeping having a nice dream about my husband and son, We were having a family cookout and Patrick has some of his colleges over. Then I was woken up by the alarm clock. Ugh, it was such a good dream. I get up and head downstairs and get a cup of coffee. I turn on the Tv and see if there is any news on the Vampire Ghoul because the case is still ongoing. It has been lonely with me being the only one in the house.
There are times when I can understand why the Vampire Ghoul did what he did. He lost his parents at such a young age and got powerful enough to take revenge over time. I get that it is not a choice to be born as a ghoul. If I am being honest I have forgiven the V+ ghoul because I believe in an eye for an eye. My husband knew the risks, however, what I can not forgive is the killing of my child. He did nothing as was a good kid, he did not need to die!
I was startled by the sound of my phone going off. It was a text from Alex one of Patrick's colleges. He said my application to join the CCG was accepted and I should head to the base at once. I finish my coffee and go get dressed. After that, I get in the car and head to the CCG. When I arrive I walk into the building and am greeted by Alex.
"Elena good to see you."
"Same Alex. Now what do I have to do?" We start to walk down a long whole hallway with many doors. I follow him into a room with gym equipment.
"I know you said you want to join as quickly. Normally you need to go to the academy, but because you were the director's wife an exception is being made. This takes about three months, but if you can show me you can pass these tests you can join right away. You will be tested on your strength, speed, endurance, and other things. Now let's begin.
A couple of hours later
I was sitting in an integration room. Alex was talking with the others about my results. I really hope I made it in. Being apart of the CCG would give me access to the information I could use to take out this monster once and for all.
Alex's Pov
"Sir, her numbers are off the charts! What do you think Director Maxwell?"
"I think might be more than human. I say we turn her into a quinx. If she is this impressive then as a quinx she will only improve."
"Sir you are aware no one has survived the procedure in the U.S, right? Heck in Japan only about a hand full of agents were successfully turned into ghouls."
"Investigator relax. I had expected great things from Andrews's wife so in anticipation I flew the doctor from Japan here to do the surgery. Now go congratulate her."
Elena's Pov
The door opens and I see Alex walk in.
"Welcome to the CCG third-class investigator Andrews. Now before you get excited I wanted to ask, do you know what a quinx is?"
"A little, they are humans with kagune right?"
"Yeah basically, only they have frames that keep their kagune in check. The director has recommended you for you to undergo the surgical procedure to become a quinx. The results from your tests were crazy high and being a quinx would mean an increase in power. I do warn you though, no CCG agent here in America has survived the procedure. Knowing this would you like to go ahead and go threw with it?"
"I can understand why my husband was killed, revenge. Who am I do hold any hard feeling towards the Vampire Ghoul when he witnessed his parents killing at such a young age."
"So why do you want to join the CCG if not to take revenge?"
"You did not let me finish. He killed my little boy and ate him in front of us. I will never forgive him for that. I accept the risk, make me into a quinx and we will start."
"Very well, please follow me to the surgery room Investigator third-class Andrews."
That is it for today's chapter guys. I had the idea to add quinx in my first book, but I did not see where it would have fit.
