SophiaAs Josie cries in my arms and I hold her all I can think about is how someone could hurt someone like her.
All I wanted to do in this moment is protect her even though I know she doesn't need it I want to.
She finally stops and slowly pulls back.
"God, I'm so sorry for keeping you back and crying you should be out there practicing." She tells me wiping her tears.
"You don't have to apologize really I don't mind." I tell her helping her wipe her tears.
Sure I'm supposed to be outside practicing for the soccer game we have this weekend but Josie was more important.
So I stay comforting her.
—
It's Friday after school also our first soccer game was tomorrow but it wasn't a home game so we had to drive up today and spend tonight and Saturday night there.
The only people going where the soccer team, the cheer team, the students from ASB, medical assistant students and any student that was willing to go since there was an extra bus just so we could have some moral support.
Also, after comforting Josie the other day when school ended she thanked me and then left.
I knew she needed space after everything that had happened so I didn't want to bother her. Even though I'm sure my gazing at her all week wasn't helping but I couldn't help it.
"All right everyone listen up on this bus it will be all the soccer team plus a couple students from ASB!" Coach Howard says loudly.
So everyone starts to put their bags where they go and then go inside the bus.
"This bus looks fancy not like the one from last year." Cassie tells me and Hope.
"Right, hopefully they have comfy seats too my ass hurt from the ride last time." Hope says and Cassie chuckles.
While they continue to talk I notice Josie talking to the coach.
"You're staring." Cassie then says it's just her now since Hope went inside the bus already.
"What? No." I tell her but I don't know what to say.
"In fact you've been staring all day." She tells me and I sigh.
"I'm just worried." I tell her genuinely.
"Yeah, same honestly today when I saw Landon I wanted to shove his face on a table." Cassie says and turn to her impressed.
"Hmm, it's a shame you didn't I would've joined." I tell her and she laughs.
Then from inside Hope knocks on the window from signaling us for us to go in.
