I don't know how long I slept, but when I woke, Keigo wasn't curled up next to me anymore. I tried to roll over to get a look at the clock and realized I was pretty sore. I moaned in pain but forced myself to move anyway. I spotted it.
5:38AM
I groaned. It was still really early. Where had Keigo gone? I didn't lay there to think about it for too much longer as I had to pee and made my way to his master bathroom. When I finished, I washed my hands and splashed some water on my face. I hunted for my clothes in the barely lit room and got dressed. I nearly jumped out of my skin when I heard the smoke detector go off. I tried to run to the door but my legs nearly gave out, so I figure fast walking would be the best decision.
Worth it. No regrets
I came down the hall and the sound stopped before I rounded the corner. I watched as Keigo was fanning the smoke alarm with a few of his feathers holding a dish towel. He was cooking. He was trying to cook. I don't think I've seen anything more attractive and sweet at the same time. I leaned against the wall, watching him. He was trying so hard. I don't know what he was attempting to cook, but if the smoke alarm went off, I'm sure it's well done.
I saw him put whatever it was on a plate and he sighed. "I suck." He said.
He ran a hand through his messy hair and I slowly made my way over to one of the bar stools sitting at the counter. He looked up to see me and he smiled.
"Chickadee! You're awake.." He walked around the counter to hug me and gave me a quick kiss.
"Do you have anything for pain?" I asked.
His eye widened. "I-I hurt you?"
I shook my head. "No.. It was just my first time.."
He looked really worried. "I got carried away.. I'm sorry."
"Stop. I won't have you getting upset over something that's pretty normal. Let me ask you this. What are you trying to cook?" I motioned to the disaster of a kitchen.
"Oh.." He grinned sheepishly. "I was trying to make you some eggs but I burned them. I then tried waffles, they are a little more brown than I would've liked but those turned out okay, and worse case, I found some cereal if you don't want waffles."
I thought about it for a few seconds and smiled. "Can I try the waffles?"
He grinned and practically ran into the kitchen to grab the plate he put them on. "Here you go chicky. Here's the maple syrup too."
I grabbed some silverware and cut off a piece that I covered in syrup, taking a bite. "Mmmm, extra brown or not, these are really good. You should eat some with me Keigo."
He smiled at me softly, pushing some hair away from my face. "You're getting cuter by the day chickadee."
Keigo let me eat as he cleaned up the huge mess he made in the kitchen. He told me he had already ate something because he had to go into work early. I almost forgot. He has a job, duh Iris. When I finished my plate, I got up to help wash dishes, but a few of his feather took the plate from my hands and took it straight to the sink.
"Keigo, I could've helped." I gave him a slight pout.
He shook his head. "Nah, you let me do that. Do you have any plans today?"
I shook my head. "I thought about getting a hold of a few friends in maybe doing something with them.. If that's alright with you?"
He paused in his task of washing dishes and glanced at me. "I don't mind, but you remember that they cant come here right?"
