Warning: mentions of blood, knives, and violence.
Blood. The red liquid covered the walls. The smell of it drowned me. With one look at the man tied to the car, I could tell there was no way he would survive.
The thick red liquid stained his clothing. A fearful look pasted on his face.
"Hey kid, why do you think this Hero is here," Kotoko asked, placing a hand on my shoulder.
"He tried to turn someone from the organization in," I answered in a questionable matter.
"Not quite, he was using his status as 'Hero' to justify unforgivable acts, such as murder. In the past year, he has managed to kill five people, who he said we're Villains that attacked him, and in self defense, he killed them." Kotoko explained. "But, in reality he had been the one to attack those people. It wasn't an act of heroism at all, it was a pure act of villainy . The worst part is, the people he attacked were people who he believed was part of our organization. Every person he attacked were innocents that had nothing to do with us. How do you feel about that Kid?"
"He's no hero, he's a fake," I told her.
"Good," Kotoko said, removing her hand from my shoulder, and with her other hand she tried sending me the knife she's been using to torturing the fake hero. "I want you to cause the last blow to this fake hero. If you can't do it then you don't have to."
I took the knife from her and stared at the blood covered blade. The blood of this man who claims to be a hero but was actually a murderer. The blood of my enemy. I held the grip of the handle tightly and looked up at the man.
His eyes were full of fear. The fear made by Kotoko, a powerful and scary woman. So why did she choose me. I'm not scary. I'm weak. I'm useless. I can't do anything. So, why did she choose me.
"You've shown impressive growth since you agreed to become my successor, now this is your test, I believe in you kid," Kotoko said. Even though I thought of myself as weak you've always believed in me, every step of the way, even if this life isn't the best.
You took me in when I needed someone. You thought me how to control my quirk. You've always been there for me. I want to make you proud, but is this truly the good thing to do?
"Big Sister, is killing him truly the answer, maybe there's another way, maybe we can turn him into the police," I asked her, taring my eyes away from the man.
"The police didn't do anything before, so why would they do anything now," She told me. "But think about the amount of people you could revenge and safe by taking that knife to that man's throat."
I looked down at the knife in my hands then back at the man.
You've killed innocent people and still haven't faced the punishment of your actions.
The man frantically wiggled in his chair, trying his best to escape. Each of my steps bringing him closer to his death.
Each one had lives worth living. Each one 7a family to return to. Each one now ruined due to one man.
I brought the knife to his throat and he froze.
I've done worse, yet I've accepted it. I don't deny it, and never will. I'll accept whatever comes my way, whether it good or bad.
I closed my eyes as I applied pressure to the knife against the man's throat. The warm liquid covered my hand. The man's struggles slowly turned to nothing. Just an dirty, empty corpse of a murderer. When I opened my eyes again the man's eyes were dull and lifeless.
