- soulmarks are always all about rainbows and sparkles and cute little sayings. but as they say, everything is different in a way.

Author's POV

Mark has never been embarrassed in his whole life, not until it hit his fourteenth birthday; the day he didn't knew that would change his entire life. The year he didn't knew he could despise and hate as much.

It was just the typical birthday party that his parents planned to throw, obviously friends and other connected relatives were invited to celebrate another successful year with him.

Currently, Mark stood in the very front, facing his average-sized cake, with his friends and family singing him the annual happy birthday song. As soon as they had ended, he closes his eyes, makes a wish, and blew his candles.

At that, the guests applaud and once again greeted him happy birthday. The meals were then served; and Mark, being the birthday celebrant, had went to every single table to talk with the guests and take pictures with them.

Mark soon neared the table of his group of friends. Before doing their signature handshake, his friend came to a halt:

"Why's that written on your wrist, dude?" Johnny laughs as the new fourteen year old furrowed his eyebrows in confusion

Then, Mark decides to look at his wrist, only to have his eyes widening in shock as he sees a black inked 'Fuck You!' written onto it:

"I don't know, man. This wasn't there earlier" He murmured, his friend shaking his head

"You gotta hide that from your parents. They might whoop your ass because of it" Johnny snickered, patting the poor guy's shoulder

Later in the evening, Mark observed the two words on his wrist. He didn't know why it was there, or how it got there; and this determined him to know what it was and what it meant.

He grabbed his laptop, opened the PC and went straight to Google, typing in the words 'What does it mean when words sprout on your wrist?'. Satisfied, he clicked enter and was greeted by many sites that had answers of his questions.

Of course, Mark being the wise boy he is, carefully observed them one by one. It didn't took long for him to find what he was looking for:

soulmark is what the words written on different parts of your body is called.

this means that once you've collided with your soulmate - or whoever that person you're destined to be with - , the words written on you will be their first words; the same goes to you.

soulmarks are mostly found in wrists, collarbones, napes, necks, hips, thighs, and legs.

Mark tilts his head at this; bewildered by the newly found information.

~4 Years Later~

Mark's POV

Four freaking years have passed and not even a day have I seen her, or him. I grew up getting bullied and criticized because a 'Fuck You!' was well and neatly written onto my wrist; visible to the eyes of other people.
