– “you know what they say? there's always a rainbow around every corner!”

Third Person's POV

"Let's try it again. My voice sounded a bit hoarse" Mark says

"No, no. It sounds just fine, Mark" Taeyong shakes his head and looks at the young one, who was still inside the recording room

"Please, I want this to be as perfect as possible" He pleads, and the elder only sighed and finally gives in

"Alright. But, this is the last time. After this we're gonna go, okay?" Taeyong explains and Mark sent him a thumbs-up

They recorded his verse once again, just as he wanted.

His smile was always wide and bright, his eyes were always sparkling with joy as it formed to crescents, his laugh was so contagious that everyone would be laughing as well. These were just one of the things they loved about the boy.

Mark was a positive and cheerful person. But not every time has been like this, not every time Mark would come home with a big smile etched on his face, not every time you'd hear his laughter holler through every inch of the room.

Not everything has been the same ever since he debuted in all three units of NCT, and the fact that he debut with SuperM; sure, sure, it's a great opportunity. But, it's also really tiring. It's tiring to write songs, to record them, learn new choreography, do photoshoot, rehearse. The cycle goes on and on.

And here comes insecurities, oh. That feeling when you feel like it's not enough and so your strive and strive to make it better? And when you say better you mean Perfection? That's what's tolling over Mark these days. He feels like he's not giving it his all and so he tries to push more and more, even if it reaches his limits.

He feels the need to do better, that he knows he can do greater than the last previous tries. Mark wanted the fans to be happy and satisfied with the outcome, he wants them to enjoy it.

After the last chance Taeyong had gave him – though, he felt like it still wasn't good enough – he then exits the recording room as Taeyong and the producer was listening to Mark's rapping, both nodding to the beat as the producer then edits it.

Mark sits down on the vacant couch, where he blankly stares to nowhere. I don't think it was good, I think it needs more. Thoughts came flooding in him as he continued to stare intently at something, not moving an inch and such.

Taeyong noticed it and sighed, seeing the familiar state of his friend, and his brother as well. He knew that in times like these, Mark would need comfort and security from someone; and he already knew who this someone is suppose to be.

He takes his phone out, and began to search through his contacts, stopping at the indisputable number:

🍵Yongie:
Hey, we have code blue again 😞

Code blue was something he and the other members have come up whenever Mark was in this kind of state; whenever he was thirsty and seek perfection. He then places his phone back after that, either waiting for the reply or for the producer's sign for them to leave.

A couple minutes later, his phone dinged. He immediately takes it out, looking at the notification:

Princess👑💛:
He's at it again? 😞

Princess👑💛:
Alright, I'm on it

🍵Yongie:
Thank you so, so much for taking care of Mark
