It was one of the calmer mornings Bea has had in the pathways along the parks of New York. She was having her morning run after deciding to finally get up at 6:30am to start her day.

There was no use for her to stay cuddled up in bed when she no longer has someone to cuddle to.

Jogging around the park near her pad, she reminisced the mornings she used to spend around here with him. Laughing and having fun as they stroll around the park together, watching the trees move from the wind and talking to each other as if there was no tomorrow.

It was good while it lasted. She thought as she took a break and sat down on one of the benches.

She wanted to run more but she's afraid her legs might not be able to endure it anymore when she decides to work out when she goes back to her unit.

She sighed as she looked at the playground in front of her, children playing around with not one bit of care of the people around them. It was a good view, reminded her of the carefree days she spent with her brother back in the Philippines.

She has been living in New York for almost 3 years now. After graduating in Manila with a degree in Communication where she met her 2 best friends, she decided to come to New York when a modeling agency scouted her.

As she was the youngest of two and the only girl, her family was strongly against her living on her own in such a liberated city in a far away country. But eventually, they were persuaded by Bea because she said she wanted to experience being able to live independently and try her luck with being a model in the city that never sleeps.

To say they were surprised was an understatement with her decision.

They never expected her to get into modeling. Sure, they asked her if she wanted to once in a while because of her proportions and how much of a stunner she is but she always shied away from them. The only times she posed for the camera were for a promotional poster for their department, which she never knew why she was chosen, and for her childhood friend, Jhoana's photography class requirement.

Other than that, she never posed for a camera nor did she ever walk on a runway.

So for her family, it was such a huge surprise that they didn't allow her with her decision immediately. They were also afraid that she wouldn't have a successful career.

But she was glad that she was able to prove their thoughts wrong. Now, she's one, if not the most, sought after model not just in New York, but also all over the world. She's been to numerous fashion shows and brands such as Chanel and Alexander McQueen were just a few of the household names that she has worked with alongside local brands based in different countries.

Bea was snapped out of her thoughts when her phone rang, she looked at her watch to check who called and she wasn't surprised that it was her Ate Mona.

"Duh, who else would it be?" She whispered to herself. Hindi naman pwedeng ang ex niya ang tumatawag sa kaniya. After all, she threw him out of her pad along with his things a few days ago when they broke up.

Not wanting to remember what happened, she took the call and leaned her back to the bench as she took one last gulp from her flask.

"Yes, ate?" She answered the call.

("Beatriz! Where are you? Nasa unit mo ako.")

Bea just closed her eyes, her ate Mona always had the knack for going inside her pad without informing her beforehand. Even when she was still living with her ex, ganoon na ang ate Mona niya, much to her annoyance when she walks in on them.
