A strong bonding doesn't need conversation. It doesn't need togetherness, but as long as love lives in the heart. The relationship never ends.

Stage 3- Comfortably

The small snowflakes fell to the ground, making me realize that Christmas was already almost here. By almost here I meant only eight more days.

A pair of arms wrapped around my waist. “Hey baby.”

Just like the last 3 months T.J and I had met up at the same coffee shop almost everyday after classes and spent all night with each other till they closed. Somedays we just talked other days there would be nothing, but silence as we did our homework. It started to become a routine. His wild and uncontrollable side started to grow on my perfectionist side.

He picked me up and spun me around in a big circle, giving me a peck on my lips before setting me back on the ground. “Guess what! Guess what!” He started shouting at me.

“What?”

He showed me a small box he had taken out of his backpack. He opened it up to reveal a sparkling diamond necklace.

My mouth dropped. “Damn TJ how did you afford this?”

“Oh it's nothing, no big deal.”

TJ still had this mysterious side. Like for instance now and when he went to the Brooks and always returned with some sort of bruise or cut on him, but I never questioned it. I was too afraid that he would be mad or something.

“Do you think she'll like it?”

By she he meant his mom. He had been stressing over what to buy her for the last month now.

“I'm sure she will.”

This year TJ had invited me to come to his families for Christmas. Considering my family never even celebrated Christmas or made a big deal about it. Plus my mom was on a business trip this year.

We started loading my car with our bags for our little vacation and 6 hour drive. The whole way there we didn't talk much just enjoyed each others presence and let our toned deaf selves jam to random songs on the radio.

6 hours we finally get to the small suburb that TJ and his family lived in.

We pulled into the driveway, and on the first steps was a little girl who quickly got up and ran to the car; hugging TJ as soon as he stepped out of the car.

“Annie!”

This must've been his 7 year old sister that he always talked about.

On the inside of his house walls were lined with pictures of all 3 kids. There was an amazing smell in the air. “Mommy! He's here!” Annie ran through the front doors into the kitchen dragging me along.
