"We're almost done..." Guinevere beamed proudly.
"I think this word is 'starting', that one is 'unspeakable', this and that is both 'something'. " Granger suggested.
The days he spent reading newspapers and answering crossword puzzles to quench his boredom while waiting for Alufart to finish flirting with different damsel in distress in their missions together has come in handy today.
"Oh you're right! What about the second to the last sentence? What if the word here is repeated??" Guinevere tapped her purple quill on the carbon copy of the ripped page Granger made.
"That's must be it...hmmm..."
"An eye for an eye!" They both whispered at the same time.
"Great minds think alike!" Guinevere giggled as she patted Granger's head.
"My memories are starting to get foggy. It may have something to do with the unspeakable power of these green fiends! They're a close kin of the double blank. Be careful of the gas they emit. Something blank will slow them down. Kill the blank to stop the curse. An eye for an eye. That's how I blank." The red head recited what they currently have filled in.
"We got a total of 5 words with missing letters..." Granger mumbled.
"Oh my! We're close to solving it. Based on this, we can deduce that these creatures can produce hallucinogenic gas and this blank can slow down the effects or the creature itself, or it may be connected as to why the dark wizards are forgetting stuff."
"Hmm...that could be, I honestly thought the reason why these wizards are forgetting is because of the curse itself but I haven't forgotten anything due to the recurring nightmares. If you read the first paragraph, this writer's brethren got cursed that's why they forgot. But why is my case different??" Granger had this question in mind since the first time he read the journal.
"If we only knew who this dark wizard because he somehow survived the curse-- Oh my! The last word in the last sentence is 'survived'!!" The red head exclaimed. She then added the missing letters in the copy.
The young marksman rested his head on his forearm and stared at Guinevere who was scribbling on the scratch paper. Her doll-like features are still intact even when she's serious. How can someone be this pretty? How can this person make his miserable life worth living for? How on land of dawn could this sole person could make his heart beat crazily just by breathing next to him? Guinevere's existence in his life was a breath of fresh air.
"Guini?"
"Yes, Grangey?" The girl answered without looking up from the piece of paper that full of crossed out possible words.
"Do you... perhaps... enjoy my company?" Granger started.
He finally made up his mind. It's now or never. If the auburn haired girl answers yes, he will tell her how he feels. The raging emotions inside his heart will finally pour out from his lips. But if she perhaps say no, he'd have to postpone his confession until she's comfortable with his company.
"Eh? Such a random question haha!" Guinevere laughed lightly and crossed out some words on her paper. Granger suddenly felt antsy.
"Huh? Do you? How about today?" Granger pushed further.
