***Jakes POV***

‘Alpha, there is a rouge on the southern side of the packs border, she crossed the border at an estimated of 2 hours ago.’ Mike my second in command said through the pack link.

‘Alright, I’m heading out that way now for my patrol anyway…… and what do you mean ‘she’?’ I questioned Mike.

‘I mean exactly what you think I meant, Sir.’ He back chatted.

‘Don’t you back chat to me!!! And it’s been years since we last had a female rouge on our lands!!’ My wolf growled at him. He has no right to talk back to me like that!!

‘Ok… I’m sorry for talking to you like that.’ He whimpered back to me.

‘you better be!!’ I growled, but not as much as before.

And with that I blocked everyone from linking me.

I was getting close, I could smell roses and a hint of mint.

With one last sniff, I silently burst into a clearing where there is a young woman standing on the middle of the clearing. She seemed to have not notice me enter the clearing so I let out a vicious growl towards her. With that she spun around so fast I was surprised she didn’t fall over.

‘SHIFT’ I yelled in the pack link.

She looked up at me with a scared expression on her face and said\

‘Ummm…. Excuse me sir….’ She mumbled back at me, “I can’t shift back, I have no clothes” She seemed embarrassed by this.

“Ohh…. Take my shirt then.” I chucked Her my shirt.

She caught my shirt and ran of behind a large tree.

While she was changing I change back to my human form and changed into my jeans. While I was facing away from the direction she had run in, I heard her quietly say “Umm excuse me sir” I turned around to face her and found her looking at the ground with a shy blush on her cheeks. As I turned around she lifted her head and examined me. She just stared at me….

“Ehhem, But if you are done ogling at me I would like to know what you were doing on my land.” I half joked.

“Ohh…. Umm… I’m sorry, I didn’t mean to trespass.” She seemed shocked, but I could tell she was lying.

“well why are you on my land?!” I asked in a more serious tone.

“I umm….. Was….” She stammered.

“You were what?!” I growled getting frustrated.

“I… was… running away.” She mumbled

“Why?” I asked.

“I was badly abused and bullied in my old pack, My mate rejected me, and my father was killed trying to protect 5 years ago.” She started to cry.

“Oh… I’m sorry” I mumbled, before I scooped her up in a huge bear hug.

“Ohh… Umm thanks?!” she said surprised.

“No problem…. Come with me back to my pack house and you can stay there for a while.” I smirked then I turned serious.

“Oh umm ok…” I stammered. “No one has been this nice to me since father was killed.” She said starting to cry again.

“Shhhhh…..” I tried to comfort her. “Come on lets go” I said and picked her up bridal style. I carried her through the forest for about 15 minutes before we came to the clearing with the pack house in it. I could tell she was falling to sleep. So I let her sleep.

I got in the pack house and took her up to one of the guest bedrooms. And placed her onto the bed.

I gently kissed her head and mumbled “Goodnight, get some sleep” Before I left the room.
