I set Nala down then put my books away.

After a month of being back in school, I was again the girl they tried to get closer to. I was the one who they tried to know.
I stayed Ice Queen, unless I was with Jessie.
Those kids could be annoying.
I loved school, but the whole hospital thing messed me up.
I was still on high honor roll, but I need to maintain that. After all, I was Whitewater Academy's top student. There were others beneath me, yes. Some tried to claim my title while I was gone, but it wouldn't happen.
Now walking through the halls to class, I felt someone's presence behind me.
"Hello Riley."
I turned. "Alice."
"I heard about why you were gone." She said "You should've stayed absent. Go attend Whitewater Public for all I care. I don't like you. Neither does anyone else." She scoffed "And how dare you treat the new chick like that? We would never do that to you."
"Who is this 'we' you talk about?" I asked "Last time I checked, the entire school is afraid of me. If I want something... I'll get it." I crossed my arms. "So you know nothing."
"No one likes you! Just go drop dead."
I narrowed my eyes. "You better watch what you say. I might have someone after you."
She pursed her lips.
I turned and went to class.
If Alice thought she could threaten me then let's see about that.
After school, I walked outside and Seth wasn't there.
I spotted why.
A huge smirk came across my face then disappeared then the redhead started talking to my dad.
I walked over. This will be fun.
"Hi kiddo."
"Hey dad."
I watched redheads face.
Her eyes widened. "Um, see... you... tomorrow."
"Shall we go?" I asked my father
He opened the door for me.
I hopped in and turned the radio up.
"You and music." Dad said
I laughed as we pulled off school grounds.
"When'd you get back?"
"Around twelve." He said
"You could've texted me."
"I wanted to surprise you." He said "And looks like I did a good job."
We went home and I went to change my clothes. There was a black box on my bed.
I opened it and pulled out a gold ring with a diamond in the heart.
I clutched the box to my chest.
He really did know how to spoil a kid.
I finished changing then did my homework.
When I went downstairs, dad was in the kitchen chopping veggies. Seth was helping.
