Final Chapter - With All My Heart

Tanjiro's POV

"H-honey! Wait!" I hear Zenitsu's mom call out to him but he doesn't turn back. He just kept on running. I look over at his parents and see the looks on their faces. They were both looking sad and worried. They must have loved Zenitsu very much. Seeing them look so worried, of course, I stood up and got ready to chase after him.

"I'll chase after him. Don't worry!" I said to his parents while flashing a smile.

"Are you sure? Do you really love him?" His dad asked me that. I was so shocked. Maybe he was serious because he was just worried about me and Zenitsu getting together.

"Of course! I love your son very much!" I said that without any shame. I wasn't afraid or embarrassed to tell the whole world that I loved him. I really really do love him. I smiled at them again and they looked at me with a face full of shock but then turned into relief.

"I'm so glad he's got such a devoted lover like you. I'm very happy for him." She says that to me while smiling. I guess they weren't bad after all. Noticing what I should be doing, I bow to them and run to start finding Zenitsu. He couldn't have gone far.

I've been running around for quite some time now and I happen to notice upon a sandy beach that's filled with moonlight. The wind blowing was giving me a sniff of the salty aroma of the water. The cherry blossom tree was making it even more beautiful. Its petals were flowing to the rhythm of the air and landing slowly and softly on the salty water of the ocean. Its soft landing made small ripples on the water and slowly, but strongly, being washed away on the shore by the waves.

I take off my shoes and slowly stepped my feet into the sand. It gave my feet some comfort. It was as if I stepped into a pillow. Looking around the beach, my eye has caught a person. A person sitting down and letting the waves touch their body. They splash and splash the water back using their hands with low force. They were just letting the sea course on their body. The petals that had been washed away into the shore made a little petal garden around the person. I move closer to see who it was.

It was Zenitsu. He looked really gorgeous and amazing under the moonlight. His eyes were glued on the starry night sky. Searching and looking at all the constellations he can find. The moonlight was just making him sparkle while sitting on the sandy ground. I walk up to him. Slowly, but conspicuous.

"It's really beautiful out here. Do you think so too?" I say as I sit beside him and let the ocean's salty water embrace my lower body with a temperature that's just right and comforting. I face Zenitsu and show him a smile. He has always said that he loved my smile. He looks back. He smiles at me with a smile of relief that made me quite flustered.

"It really is." He said that with a calming tone. I'm guessing that he has already calmed down. Moments have passed and we just let ourselves be comforted by the ocean and the starlit sky.

"Hey. Do you think I'll be okay?" He asks me. I've reassured him a lot of times today and I never get tired of doing it. I'll reassure him again.

"You'll be fine. If anything happens to you, I'm here. Even if the entire world is against you, I'll always be by your side." After I say that, he hides his face using his hands and looks away.

"Geez! What's with you today..?" I laugh a little at him. He was just really too adorable for me. There were times when I think that he's too good for me but right now, I'm just grateful that I was the one he was marrying.

"I really do love you."

"Stop ittttt!!!" He says while blushing visibly. I was getting a little worried with the time and was about to suggest to get back to their house but was stopped when Zenitsu suddenly spoke again.

"Hey. Just so you know...! I... love you too..." I was mostly shocked with his sudden confession but, I flashed another smile at him.

"Let's go. We still have to finish the talk with your parents." I say as I reach out my hand to help him get up. He gladly takes it and when he stands up, he doesn't let go of my hand.

"J-just stay like this..." He was acting so cute all of a sudden! I chuckle a little and grip his hand tightly.

"Ok." We wore our shoes again and dry ourselves and little and then started to walk hand-in-hand back to his parents' house. We head back in again and sit back down on the chair. Zenitsu looks comfortable and brave now. He was practically overflowing with confidence.

"Mom, Dad. I love Tanjiro too. No matter what you say, I will and always will love him." He said that openly but I can see his hands were shaking a little but it wasn't enough for fear to take over him. His parents looked very proud. His mom started to cry and even his dad was tearing up. They chuckle and then went over to Zenitsu and hugged him.

"Join us too!" His mom playfully invites me to a group hug. With this, I guess, I was already part of the family. After hugging, we sit back down in our seats, no longer afraid. The menacing aura was gone too.

"Zenitsu, both of us were very proud that you accomplished your dream and got back with the kid you loved the most. And about you being gay, I already knew a long long time ago." His mom says while winking.

"R-really?! When?!" Zenitsu stood up in shock. I was in shock too but I couldn't act all rude now when I've given them a good impression. Even though this was how I really act.

"Back when you still played with that boy! We were so sad that we had to separate you too before..." Wait, so, they knew me all along?!

"W-wait, that boy, was me...!" I exclaimed. They were once again filled with shock.

"Oh... that makes us even better to know that you got back with the boy before! I guess this really is true love..." His mom was astonished. Even his dad showed a little bit of shock. True love. I guess that that was real.

In the end, we were all very happy with the outcome. We bid Zenitsu's parents farewell and had a group hug for one last time. They gave us some candy, food, and gifts! They also said that we could contact them anytime if we needed anything. They were crazy rich! But I wasn't the type of person to manipulate that. I was going to make and earn my own money, my own way. Zenitsu and I walked on over back to the car and surprisingly, he said that he should drive now. I accept his offer and let myself in the backseat. After a smooth and nice car ride filled with laughter and happiness. We made it back to our home. Yes, our home. We decided that we should live together. I already packed my things and got it ready to transfer into Zenitsu's house. We both took a bath and then finally collapsed on the bed.

"Hey, Tanjiro."

"What?"

"Do you really love me?" He asks and I laughed a little because he asked the most dumb and obvious question.

"D-don't laugh!!! Just tell me!!"

"I really do love you. I love you with all my heart!"

"That's good to hear... I love you too! With all my heart." We slowly drift into sleep while holding hands. I love him and he loves me. This was the best and most surprising day of my life.
