The Raven

Dude what's up with the chick ?

I trudged upstairs and walked into my new room. I dropped the last of my boxes on my floor. I looked over at my Lime green surf board that had a Raven on it. around the surfing community, They call me the Raven. I guess its my pitch black hair and my graceful ways? I laughed to my self.

I looked out my window that over looks the ocean. My blood started to really go when i saw it. Its like I'm meant for the waves and not the ground. My body takes over and nothing can stop me.

I hurried over to a box full of my swimming stuff. I pulled out my White Board shorts that had ' Raven ' Written on the left corner and a matching bikini top with a picture of a Raven on the right side.

I slipped them on and threw my hair up. I quickly grabbed my borad and ran out the door not bothering to tell anyone where i was going. My feet hit the sand and i stopped and put my leash onto my ankle. To say i was amped was an understate meant.

My eyes scanned the water as i paddled out. All i was seeing were Ankle Busters. Until i saw one that was sure to get a barrel. I went out farther until i turned around and got ready to ride it. And soon enough i was riding the wave. I started to climbing it, but it started to curl. I knew i should have bailed out but i wanted to go longer and before i knew it i was sucked under. The waves started to pelt me and my board. It was having hard just staying on the surface, And every time i tried to surface we would both be pushed back down even farther. I knew if i got my leash off i could get away but the damn thing wouldn't budge.

I was running out of air, fast. I vaguely remember seeing a figure dive under before everything went black.

" Why are you such a god damn disappointment!! " My mother Screamed at me. " Mom, please keep it down. The neighbors will hear! " I tried to reason with her, my voice soft. I looked around me, just seeing empty bottles of liquor. Every kind. The smell radiated off of her. The house was cold.. Of course, Meaning once again she hadn't paid the bills and i bet the fridge is empty.

" Oh worried the neighbors will hear, are we? Well why don't you just get out of my damn house! " She yelled once again pointing to the front door. Before turning towards the door, I remembered and went towards the stairs. " Where the hell are you going?" She asked. I just ignored her until we were outside of a door. Finally i spoke up. " Just shut your trap! Wouldn't you like your own daughter to think you were the loving mother she used to have, still! " I whisper yelled at her. I opened the door and saw Annabelle still asleep from her nap. " I scooped up the fragile seven year old in the arms and draped her blanket over her in the process before walking out of her room, down the stairs and out the front door. With out even seeing my mom. Probably drinking herself away again.

I walked across the street to Mrs. Nebitts house and knocked on her door. She opened the door and with out even thinking, let me in. I walked through her house until i found her guest bedroom where Annabelle stays. I tucked her in and kissed her forehead. " Im so sorry Belly.. I wish we could stay home all the time. I wish mom would get a job and pay for the things you need. I love more than anyone else in the whole wide world." I whispered before walking out and closing the door.

I made my way to the kitchen where Mrs. Nebitt was making me a sandwich. " Here you go Honey. " She said handing the turkey sandwich over to me. " Thanks Mrs. Nebitt. " I said smiling. " Cole i swear to the heavenly gods i will hurt you if you don't Call me by my first name, Jane. " She scolded me. " Sorry Mrs.- ... Jane. " She just smiled and started to clean up.

I took a bite of my sandwich and watched her tidy up. I finished the sandwich and she took my plate and began to wash it. " I better get going. She didn't pay again so i have to go gather some money. " I said standing up and brushing off my khakis. Only to be pulled into a hug. She was very short compared to my 6'2 structure so i chuckled and hugged her back.

" Thank you. Thank you so much. you've done more than i can repay you for. " I told her truthfully. "Don't worry about it darling! You know I love you and Annabelle like my own! " She told me while pulling away to look at me. I gave her one last hug and kissed her cheek, listening to her giggle as I walked out of the door.

I made it back to my house, but instead of going inside I went out back to the beach. I walked towards the bench that was seated where the sand starts. I sat down and ran my hands through my dark brown hair. After thinking for a while, I noticed a!girl run out of the house next door. Must be the new neighbors, I thought to myself.

She had pitch black hair and a athletic body. Her white bathing suit made you notice her honey kissed skin. The girl had a surfboard with her. She went out into the water.

I watched as she paddled out and waited for a good wave. Suddenly she turned 

Around and hopped up. Doing S's in the water. Natural.

Suddenly she was sucked under. Board also. I hopped up an ran to the waters edge, fear running through my vains.

I kept looking and looking but I still didn't see her. So with out thinking I stripped out of my shirt and shoes and dove into the water.

I swam out and went under. My eyes burning from the salt water. I saw her floating in the water. She was almost.. Lifeless. I swam towards her and held onto her in a bridal style as I propelled to the surface.

Her board coming up with us. Easily, I slid her motionless body on her board and pushed her to the beach.

Once there I checked to see if she was breathing. But I got so lost in her beauty. From her cheek bones 

To her plump light pink lips. She was angelic, like a delicate rose petal. Wait she can't be my Mat-. My thoughts were cut of by my name being yelled " Cole! " I once again scooped her up and started towards Ben.

" Dude, what's up with the Chick? " he asked.

" No time to explain. Go over to that house." I nudged my head to the house she came out of earlier. " And let them know I'm taking there daughter to the hospital! " I finished as I rushed to my truck.

I laid her down so her head was in my lap. " Please stay with me. " I whispered as I Stroked her black hair. God she was beautiful.

As I drove to the hospital the possibilities ran through my head.

What if she is? She's only human, I mean how will I control myself? How will I tell her! What if she runs away, or never let's me see her again?

Finally I pulled in, I rushed her in. Suddenly I heard Ben say ' Who was that girl?' ' That girl, is my Mate. '
