Chapter 26

Squeals of laughter filled the beach's shore. The five boys' happiness shone brighter than the sun, sending the rays of their joy to compete against the powerful sun up in the sky.

Since Yeonjun had the day off, our handsome five main characters had decided to meet up and hangout together like they used to. It was the time for the moon's brother to rest and let the moon take over; the beautiful yet weak beams of sunlight mixed in with the purple sky, turning the once sky-blue canvas into a beautiful contrast between light and dark that restlessly competed to gain the attention of the moon that glowed with bright beams of beautiful white light.

It had been quite a while and many things had been happening; Taehyun's birthday was now right around the corner, he would turn 18 and finish his small period of apprenticeship, giving him a much more important role in his tribe and give way for the soon-to-be 12-year old's to start their own training.

Yeonjun and Beomgyu were also taking yet another step in their relationship. Yeonjun had asked and Beomgyu had said yes, so it would be obvious that a Becoming of Mates ceremony would be held soon. . . And by soon I mean if Jungkook and Taehyung come to an agreement on letting the two--- despite being so young and from 'enemy' tribes, be together and have their small 'Happy Ever After' like many others at the island.

I mean. . . If Taehyung had let one of his warriors to fall in love with a syren, why wouldn't he just let Beomgyu be happy with Yeonjun?

It was more complicated than someone would think, but Beomgyu and Yeonjun would figure something out if their leaders kept being petty by holding past grudges against each other for no apparent reason.

After all, it was love that was leading Yeonjun and Beomgyu on, why would that be the cause of their own doom?

While Beomgyu and Yeonjun where getting their stuff together, Soobin had been starting to lose his own mind. He'd been finding out about strange feelings in his chest every time he thought about Kai. He couldn't explain it and every time he did he would get confused and lose his senses, ending up even more lost than before. He only knew that his feelings for Kai weren't as passionate or as intense as the feelings that Yeonjun and Beomgyu had, but it still made him feel weird.

Talking about them, Kai and Soobin had been meeting up too. The meetings weren't with the same purposes as Beomgyu and Yeonjun's, but they still spent time with each other to talk, joke and have the type of conversations that the two could only understand.

Were they slowly falling in love due to this? Maybe, maybe not. You'll just have to relax, sit back down, grab your snack and keep on reading this rather. . . Peculiar story to find that small, little detail out .

Kai jumped off a rock and flapped his wings clumsily. He flapped his arms too, but that only caused the wind around him to lift him up and swirl him around before throwing him against the waves of the ocean.

"Caught you!" Soobin exclaimed, hurling himself out of the water and wrapping his now strong arms around Kai's waist.

Kai squealed with surprise and curled his arms around Soobin's neck when the older dived into the water once more, this time dragging the younger boy with him.

Water surrounded the two. Stray feathers that had escaped from Kai's unusual wings went rouge and danced all around them, brushing against their faces and lightly tickling their noses and chins. Some bubbles as well as foam joined the party by swirling around and lifting their hair up so it could also join the dance along the water's rythm.
