He arrived and climbed to the top of the tower until he got to the balcony of Mr. Stark's office with Emily still unconscious over his shoulder. He could be seen talking to Natasha until he spotted Peter outside. Natasha made her way to the lift, leaving the room, while Tony headed over to open the door for him. "Hey, kid, what's the news," He asked while clearing his desk for Peter to lay her down. "Where do I start?" Peter chuckled to himself. "The weird men in masks keep popping up to do some crime every couple of weeks, and my friend got close to finding out where they come from until they found her and kidnapped her over a week ago. Now it seems they've... I don't know, brainwashed her?" He explained looking down at Emily, who now looked rather peaceful as she laid there, rather than the painful look she had on her face back at the warehouse. Her skin was still pitch-black and her hair was still bright white, almost like it was glowing, except a couple of loose strands had fallen out of her braids, now lightly tickling her face with the breeze that drifted in through the open door. "I've seen this before actually," Tony said, inspecting her appearance closer. "I've been working out of town tracking a man who looks like her. That's why I've come back to New York. He's been traveling across the states for about as long as you've been alive, you know?" He said, sitting down in his desk chair, clacking away on his keyboard. "Does he look familiar to you?" He asked, moving his monitor around to face Peter. A slightly blurry image showed the man Peter saw at the docks, and in the CCTV footage at the bank. The image had obviously been taken by CCTV in a different location, but it was definitely him. "Yes! That's the guy leading the demons!" He exclaimed, pointing at the screen.
"You're friend is very lucky you know? Most people he possesses, just end up shooting themselves by his command after they tell him what he wants to know. I've never seen anyone be recruited by him before, not like this. I was starting to wonder if he was capable," Tony pondered, looking at the girl while Peter wandered over to a mirror to take off his mask and check out the damage she had done. "She'll probably clear up in a day or two, as long as he doesn't come near. But for now, I'm going to lock her up as you suggested, and I need you to keep an eye on her," He said, standing up from the desk, with a packet of peanuts in hand. "What? But what about that man? Someone needs to handle it!" Peter protested. "Where do you think I'm going to be?" He said as he pressed on his heart, causing his ironman armor to grow around him as he walked to the balcony. "You need to be here when she wakes up, makes sure she doesn't hurt herself," He winked before the mask closed around his face as he flew off through the city.
Peter turned around to pick Emily up off the desk. "Welcome, Peter," Tony's AI spoke as a door slid open to the side of the office. "Hey, Friday," Peter replied, now carrying Emily in both his arms. He walked into the room to see a single cell with a thick glass wall to the front, surrounded by white padded walls around, with a bed and a toilet. He placed her down on the bed before backing out of the cell, letting the rest of the glass to slide across to conceal her inside. "This cell was built for Dr. Martin Li, to nurse and/or restrict his abilities. I see you have his daughter instead," Friday stated. "Yeah, I know. She'll get better though, right?" He asked for assurance. "Affirmative, Peter," She replied. Perhaps now would be a good time to update the gang on the situation.
"Hey guys," He said into the group call. "Pete! What happened?" Ned asked nervously. "I found her, but she's going to need to rest for a while., I'm at the Avengers tower now, keeping an eye on her," He spoke with relief. "Well done, man, are we going to see you at school tomorrow?" MJ asked. "Nah, I'll ask Aunt May to call in sick for me for the next couple of days." He said, sighing and rubbing his hair around, looking at Emily lying peacefully on her bed. "Miss you already, babe!" Ned chanted down the phone. "Miss you too, boo!" Peter chimed back. "Ugh you guys are gross," MJ whined before hanging up, leading to Peter and Ned laughing before ending the call as well.
Peter took a deep breath as he looked over at Emily. despite her inverted coloring with her bright white hair and blackest black skin, she looked so peaceful and harmless. It's hard to believe she was totally kicking Peter's ass earlier that day. Her strength was quite immense as well. How she managed to keep him pinned down to the ground for so long while throwing her punches at him so hard. Peter's mind started to wonder. He started to think about how intense it was to have her kneel over him like that, pinning him down. He suddenly realized what he was thinking about before shaking himself out of. 'Come on, this is Emily! Don't think like that,' He thought to himself, nearly physically smacking himself across the jaw.
