Peter swung through the air at great speed while holding Emily close to his body. She had her arms and legs wrapped around him to secure her grip while her tied back hair flew back with every swing. She was hoping maybe one day she would get to see the city like this more often as it was so beautiful from above. "Guys I have tapped into the bank security. It looks like Martin is there!" Tony could be heard over Peter's wireless in his mask.
"Copy that, Mr Stark!" Peter called back to him. In Emily's mind, she was wondering what it'll be like to face her father again, especially since the last true memory she had of him was stabbing him in the leg. She felt a pit in her stomach as they grew closer, and she couldn't tell it was out of self-doubt or her yearning for her mother. The mixed smell of Peter's deodorant and suit soothed her somehow as if she was still in their room at his apartment. She had grown accustomed to the smell pretty quickly as it had become her new home. Even in a matter of days, her transition from moving from apartment to apartment had been a breeze for her mentally. Perhaps it was because she was so used to moving location, or maybe it was because of the matter of the incident that prevented her from grieving her mother straight away and gave her a goal to work towards.
Peter slowed his swings as he approached the building, their feet soon touching the flat roof. From the skylight, they could see the demons inside holding hostages and securing the vault. Unfortunately, they were a little too late to stop the break-in altogether as it was the other side of the area, however, they still had enough time to stop them. Emily undid the latch to open the light and hooked her arms around Peter again to lower them quietly into the building without alerting the men. "When I signal, can you disarm the guards by the hostages," He whispered as they dropped behind one of the counters out of view. Emily nodded as she squatted, going to peek her head around the corner of the desk to see the situation. To the left were 3 demons with automatic rifles in arms by the hostages, 4 seemed to be patrolling the outskirts of the room while 5 were at the rear desk where the vault was. It was clear that they had upped their rally since spiderman was a known protector to them. She looked back to see Peter squatted at the other end of the desk to see a clear situation of the ones at the vault, plotting his next move. He looked back to her and nodded before he quietly left his cover.
Emily took this as the signal and so she moved out of her cover and stretched her arms outwards. She concentrated on the weapons in the hands of the 3 guards by the hostages and as she flexed her hands, the rifles flew out of their hands to the ceiling. They looked up to follow in confusion, before turning looking around to see what happened. The furthest one spotted her first, as she ran towards them. Before the one had any clue what was going on, she performed a flying kick to his chest, knocking him to the ground. The second one ran to throw a punch at her, when she blocked with her arms, grabbing the mans fist. With one swift movement, she had flipped the man onto his back, solidly punching him square in the jaw, knocking him out. The third one kicked her knee from behind, making her fall to the ground. She stretched one arm out behind her and flexed the muscles in her fingers, sending the man flying backwards and colliding with the first man who had just gotten up, knocking them both out as they hit the floor.
She looked up to see that Peter had already webbed up 3 of the 9 other guards in the room, no sign of Martin yet. Just as the demons furthest from Peter brought their guns up to aim, Emily threw her arms towards, knocking their weapons from their hands. She ran forward to join in the fight when she saw Martin run from one of the back rooms with two of the guards from Peter's fight running to join him. She knew this would be the moment that they make their getaway, so she changed direction to catch up to them. She was now close enough to throw the two men from Martin's side, knocking them to the ground but not KOing them. Martin now stood alone with a large grin across his face. "So good to see you again, Talon," He smiled wickedly. He pulled his arm up and let the inverted colours spread over until his entire body was colour-swapped, including the money bag slung over his shoulder. The two men had gotten to their feet and rushed to his side, letting him take their life force to give him strength. "Is that how your leg mended? You stole life?" Emily asked, angrily. Peter could see the show-down from across the room while fighting off the last of the men. If the hostages' lives weren't still in danger, he would leave them to help her. He knew for a fact that if he had left that fight, the men he was in combat with would run to the hostages and kill them.
Emily knew that if she were to come into contact with this man, she could be put under his trance. There was a chance she could fight it, but it was not a risk she was going to take willingly. He slowly stepped towards her, feeling her fear in the air. His grin grew more wicked as he got closer. "Why don't you fight for me again?" He asked, before launching to grab her, just missing her by a hair. She flexed her arms forwards to push him back, only for him to be grounded by his energy. 'Of course' She thought. 'He's pretty much the reason I have these powers, there's a fat chance of them working against him'. Maybe if she didn't dodge him and went straight to attack him he would take the damage, whether or not if Emily's mind will get caught in the crossfire. She ran at him, swinging her leg under his, knocking him the ground. She dropped over him and with a solid fist, went to punch him in the Jaw. She was just about to make the contact when he held her arm from his face and she could see her suit invert up her arm. Before she knew it, her vision grew dark for a second. She could hear Peter shout her name as she began to feel fuzzy.
Peter threw the last man against a wall, webbing him up as he made contact before sliding over a desk to reach the two. By this point, a helicopter could be seen hovering over the building with a rope hanging down the skylight they left opened when they entered. With a wave, Martin took a hold of the rope as the helicopter left, shifting him up through the room and out the window, swinging away as the noise of the blades could be heard echoing as they flew. Peter rushed to Emily's side who was struggling against the floor, her natural and inverted colours shifting back and forth with a strained look on her face.
