Chapter 25

Lizzie PoV:
We didn't find any spells in the library, so we decided to go back to Josie to check up on her. As soon as we walked in, I felt something was wrong. I looked around and Josie was nowhere to be found. That's when Hope looked at me "where's Jo? I'm pretty sure we left her here..".

I shrugged "yeah, we did. Do you think that she woke up? Or maybe-", then Hope cut me off "someone took her.". I started laughing at that having no clue why she would think that "umm.. no. Why would anyone take Jo? I doubt that happened.".

When I didn't hear a response I looked to where Hope was looking to see a broken window. I left out a sigh in defeat and that's when Hope said "do you believe me now?".

I walked over to the window and looked into the hole "but why would anyone take her? She's practically almost dead.". As I said that Hope slapped my arm "Lizzie, stop saying that. She's alive, okay?".

I stayed quiet and tapped her shoulder. After that I walked to my dorm and as soon as I closed the door I started crying. I went over to Josie's bed and jumped on it. I hugged the pillow and only hoped that she was okay.

Jade PoV:
I was sitting on a bench near the lake as I was thinking about everything that was happening. I looked at my hands as I heard someone walk up to me "Wendy,I'm fine. You don't have to check up on me every 20 minutes".

She chuckled "well, yeah I do. Because if I don't, then you might just disappear and honestly, I don't want that.". I shrugged "I just feel so guilty. I've killed so many people, so many innocent people.".

"I understand, but it wasn't your fault. Josie did this to you, she is the one to blame. And just say it and I will literally end her.".

I smiled lightly at her "no, that won't be necessary. I just don't get it. Why would she do this to me?..", I said as my smile dropped "..but she is also not in the right head space. She is practically under control of black magic.".

"I know, but you are not just going to forgive her, right? ". I looked at the lake "I don't know. I really want to, but one part of me is freaking pissed at her. Because of her I was this awful monster again. I just want her to be okay and then maybe we'll work it out..".

She stayed quiet and then Hope suddenly ran over to us "guys, it's urgent. Josie has been taken". I looked at her in shock "what do you mean 'taken'?"

"She was in the gym and then someone took her. Whoever did this also broke a window, which means that they weren't prepared that we would be back so soon.".

... PoV:
I had her right where I wanted her. She was chained up on the chair, but she was not waking up. I walked up to her and moved her left and right "why aren't you waking up?!".

"Ohh... it has something to do with that Hope girl,huh? I heard she got you quite knocked out. I almost feel bad for you... and the fact that nobody will ever find you alive is really really sad... for you anyways. Don't worry, as soon as I find the spell to save you, I'll do it. And then I'll kill you. Nothing personal, really. It's just about a little gift for your dad. After everything he put me through, he deserves it. But first, you are going to pay for everything you took away from me..."

I grabbed her chin and squeezed it "You will pay Josette Saltzman!".
