Flashback
"W-What do u mean take a break Y/N?"
"I-I'm sorry but with everything that's happening right now, I feel that we should just not see each other for a while."
"U-don't mean that right Y/N? Please Y/N!"
"Mianhae Tomi... just let me think things out first..."
Present time
"Hey Y/N u planning to get back with her?" Your friend Jun asked u.
"We didn't break up Jun, it's just.... I don't know what we're right now." U said as u sighed.
It's been about 2 months since u last spoke to your girlfriend Hitomi.
U felt that u guys needed a break from being together for a while because u felt that only she was contributing to your relationship and u weren't doing anything to make her happy.
Since that day, u didn't feel much happier without Hitomi by your side but instead felt even more depressed.
"Maybe u can reconcile with her during the prom tomorrow? Cmon Y/N I can tell that u still love her. Besides have u thought about her feelings if she were to know the reason why u suggested taking a break in the first place?"
"That's the thing Jun, I don't even know how to talk to her anymore. I thought that this break would allow me to sort things out but it turns out that it's making things even worse for me." U said frustratingly.
"Well I can't really help u anymore. All I can say is that I wish for the best outcome between the two of u tomorrow. Bye Y/N." Jun said as he went home.
"Tomi... what should I do?"
Meanwhile
"He still not talking to u yet hii-chan?" Sakura asked while the girl shaked her head.
"I don't even know why he even suggested taking a break in the first place.... am I not enough for him?" Hitomi said while almost producing tears in her eyes.
"Hey there there don't cry Hitomi, I'm sure he'll talk soon." Chaeyeon said while patting the girl's back.
"Chaeyeon's right Hitomi, I heard that Y/N is going to prom tomorrow. Maybe it's the right time to talk things out." Eunbi said while Hitomi nodded.
Timeskip
"I'm back guys."
"Still not talking to Hitomi yet Y/N?" Your friend Wonwoo asked u.
"Not now Wonwoo, the guy just came back." Jeonghan said.
"I'm just concerned for him. He's been like this for the past 2 months already."
"Alright now now, let's just give them some more time. I'm sure things will work out right Y/N?" Woozi said as u nodded.
"I'll be going back to my room if u guys need me." U said with no energy as u walked into your room with the guys looking at u in worry.

"Tomi... I don't know if our relationship at this point is on the verge of disappearing. I miss u yet every time i want to call u, I don't know what to say to u."
"Maybe it's best if we actually break up...."
Knock knock
U were knocked out of your thoughts as u heard knocking on your door.
"Who's there?"
"Its me. Can I come in?" U heard Dino.
Your friend then walked in your room with a worried look.
"How are things between u guys?" Dino asked u as u sighed.
"It's still the same. I don't really know what we are now." U replied with a heavy heart.
"I heard the situation from Jun. U know a while ago I spoke to Hitomi."
U widened your eyes upon hearing what he said.
"U did? What for?"
"Well..."
Flashback
"Hey Dino!"
Dino heard a girl call his name as he turned back.
"Oh hey Hitomi. What's up?"
"I... is Y/N doing ok?"
"Well, I wouldn't say he's ok or not ok. Just normal I guess."
"I see... well at least he's doing fine..."
"Hey Hitomi, why don't u just contact him if u're worried about Y/N?"
Hitomi shaked her head and looked down.
"I... I can't. I don't even know what I did wrong for him to suggest taking a break from our relationship..."
There was a bit of silence until....
"U know it might not be u."
Hitomi raised her head and looked at Dino in confusion.
"From what I know about Y/N. He's someone who feels insecure easily. Probably because of his parents u know about that right?"
The girl nodded.
"Then u should know, the time that he spent with u was the happiest since then but what I think is that he feels that only u are contributing to the relationship more than him."
"I can tell he loves u a lot but maybe because of what he's went through, he doesn't want to get too emotionally attached to u in case u leave him one day like his parents. But on the other hand, he also wants to love u more than the amount of love u're giving him."
"Y/N...."
"Just give him some more time to think about it, I'm sure that he'll figure it out soon."
Flashback over
"Now u know how much she loves u? Cmon
Y/N just what are u hesitating about?" Dino asked u.
U didn't know what to do right now.
U hated being in a dilemma but at the same time u wanted to just make a decision right there.
Being with Hitomi was one of the best decisions u ever made in your life since each second u were with her was your happiest.
But ever since your parents left u for their own jobs, u were afraid of being too attached to someone for fear that they would leave u too.
Your mind was in a turmoil right now as u didn't know what to do.
"It's not just about her Y/N. Even me and the other guys here. We've known each other for about 2 years already yet we still feel that u aren't really being yourself in front of us."
"M-Mianhae Dino." U said but heard a sigh from him instead.
"Don't apologise Y/N just patch things up with Hitomi soon and get over your emotional barrier. We'll be behind your back every time."
Dino was about to walk out of the room until....
"Thanks Dino. I... I know what to do now." U said as Dino smiled at u.
"It's alright."
U were now alone in your room while u looked through your photos u had with Hitomi in your phone.
There were pictures when u guys were in the amusement park.
Pictures when celebrating your birthdays and anniversaries.
U smiled as u swiped through the memories u guys had.
Until, u found a picture of your first date with her.

"D-did I hear u wrongly Y/N?"
U blushed as u looked down and shyly asked Hitomi "I... I said I like u.... and was asking I.. if u are willing to give me... a chance."
There was no response which u thought Hitomi rejected u.
"I.. it's too sudden isn't it? Just take it that this never happened."
U were about to leave when u felt a sudden hug on your back as u froze.
"Pabo, u finally did it."
Your heart swelled up with her words.
U turned around and looked at Hitomi with a huge smile on your face.
"U.... u like me too?"
She smiled back at u and nodded.
"It can't be me confessing to u right? So I thought why not wait for u and u really came to me."
Hitomi then held your hand and looked at u.
"But now that I've held your hand, promise u won't ever let go Y/N."
U smiled and hugged her as she hugged back.
"I promise Tomi. I won't ever let go."
Flashback over
Drip drip
U found yourself crying at this point as u wiped your tears.
"Tomi... I've finally found my answer. Wait for me."
The next day
U and the guys were at the annual school prom now since u guys were invited.
"Alright Y/N. I swear u better make things up with Hitomi today or u're sleeping on the streets today." Seungcheol jokingly said to u as u heard laughter from the guys.
"Jokes aside, a girl like Hitomi is very hard to find these days. Treasure her Y/N." Joshua said to u.
"Thanks guys, but it'll have to wait till I even find her tonight."
U and the guys entered the dance room now as u looked around in search for your girlfriend.
"Hey Y/N~"
U turned and saw the school's most flirtatious girl, Jennie trying to entice u.
"I see u were invited to the prom, why not join me in dancing tonight~"
U felt her hand on your shoulders as u pushed her hands off.
"Not now Jennie, I've got something more important to do today."
U were about to leave until...
"U DARE REJECT ME?! LEAVE AND U'LL REGRET IT!"
Everyone was looking at Jennie as she shouted at u.
But u didn't care as u left the room and walked around the school in continuous search of Hitomi.
"Wow, Y/N actually did a great job this time." Vernon clapped while the guys nodded.
Meanwhile
"U ready Hii chan?" Yujin asked.
"I know that Y/N's not into dancing so I'll just look for him around the school if that's ok wit u girls." Hitomi said while the girls nodded.
"It's fine, go get him Hii chan. Fighting!"
Hitomi smiled as she walked away from the girls to search for u.

U were now walking in the school garden still searching for Hitomi but at the same time u didn't know that she was also looking for u.
"Where could she/he be?"
U walked and walked but suddenly bumped into someone as that person fell.
"I'm so sorry! I didn't see u." U were about to help the person up until...
"Tomi?!"
"Y/N?!"
There was a bit of silence until Hitomi got up.
"U... u ok? I didn't meant to knock u down."
She nodded in response.
Now it was silent again between the both of u as u both looked at the scenery.
"H-how've u been these 2 months?" U decided to break the silence.
"It's been hard... without u by my side."
U felt guilty after hearing the response.
It was all your fault for even suggesting the break.
But right now, u had to make things right.
"Tomi look I know I've messed up this time. B-but I've thought about it."
Hitomi looked at u while waiting for your answer.
"I... I want to continue holding your hand forever."
The corner of her lips curved up as u saw tears welling up in her eyes.
"I'm sorry Tomi... it's been hard on u these 2 months. I.. I d-didn't want to get too emotionally attached to this relationship in case.."
"In case I'll leave u like how your parents did?"
U nodded as your tears also started falling.
She then wiped your tears away while caressing your cheeks.
"Silly, I've told u. I'll never let go of your hand once I've held it. This is a promise we've made to each other isn't it?"
"I know but... I really can't stand losing u... which is why I felt that I wasn't enough for u instead since I couldn't contribute more into this relationship."
Hitomi kept silent as she heard your reason.
"U gave 100% into keeping our relationship as stable as posssible yet I couldn't give 110%. I.. I'm supposed to be the one loving u more than u loving me. I'm sorry Tomi..."
Your tears fell once again as u saw Hitomi crying too.
"U silly boy, is our love for each other that weak? As long as we love each other isn't that enough? Who cares who contributes more-
Hitomi was interrupted as u kissed her in the lips with much passion and love.
U missed the feeling as she did the same to u.
After a while, u separated but there were still tears in both your eyes.
"From now on, I'll make sure to make it up to u by loving u so much that this relationship will never grow unstable once more. Will u give me one more chance Tomi?" U asked while only receiving a kiss from Hitomi once more.
"That was the only word I wanted to hear from u all these time Y/N."
U both smiled at each other and went in for a hug.
Dance music suddenly started playing as u held her hands.
"Shall we dance?" U asked your girlfriend as she nodded.
"I love u so much Y/N please don't leave me like that again."
"I promise u Tomi."
With that u and Hitomi danced as the night passed and a stronger love between u two grew.

From that day on, u made sure to always prioritise Hitomi since u've promised to never let her go once again.
It was a rough time during the break but right now all it mattered was your love for each other.
