Chapter 3

The other chapter was a bit rusty but I still hope y'all enjoy the book.

The sound of my alarm wakes me up and I get up  to turn it off. Groaning I get up from bed and take a quick shower.

I settle for a light blue tank top and black denim shorts  and put my hair into a nice bun. After seeing that I look some what presentable, I head downstairs.

My dad is watching the news, while mom is in the kitchen doing what she knows how to do best. But I can't find grandma nor mason.

"Good morning dad", I say to him. He turns towards my direction and smiles at me.

"Morning pumpkin, you're up late today"

"I overslept".

"Is something wrong dear? ", worry written all over his face.

"I'm fine dad. There's nothing to worry about" he doesn't seem convinced but he let's it go.

"Uhm dad where's grandma and mason "

" They're out the back. someone came over to drop something so they all went to the back "

"Okay dad" I kiss his cheek and head towards the kitchen where I find mom reading a magazine.

"Hey mom, what you up to" she looks up to me.

"I'm just passing away time while I wait for the cookies to get ready" the idea of cookies makes my mouth water and stomach growl. That's when I realize I haven't had anything to eat. Mom noticing this doesn't say anything she just tries to stifle  her laughs.

"So mom I'm going to see what grandma and mase are up too, I'd be back in a bit" she nods her head and I take that as my que to leave. I open the back door and find mason talking to someone who is not my grandma but he seems really familiar.

Please don't let it be him. The more I go closer to them, the more nervous I become because the blue eyed hottie is in my backyard. I wonder what his doing here.

You're talking like you don't want him here.

My subconscious taunts me. Could this day get anymore annoying.

Mason finally notices me and waves me over.

"Hey mase " I know there's someone else here but I don't have the courage to face him so I keep looking at my brother.

" Hey lily. Grandma was showing me her rose garden when cole came over ".  So that's his name. The blue eyed hottie's name is Cole. I finally look over to him and he smiles at me. I feel rather self conscious now that I realize I'm almost half naked and he's accessing me from head to toe before he meets my eyes.

" Hey" I say to him nervously. He doesn't reply though. Maybe he can't talk.

Oh lily, stupid as always. Didn't you talk to him yesterday.

My subconscious reminds me. I groan inwardly. This is so awkward.

I turn to Mason because Cole keeps staring at me with no emotion in his eyes and I could literally melt under his gaze.

"Where's grandma Mase"

"She said something about going to get more seeds. But she hasn't come back for a while now"mase says still admiring the roses. I wont lie they are really beautiful.

Cole finally speaks and his voice runs shivers down my spine.

"Mason how bout when next I come I give u a ride on my motorcycle " what he said terrified me. My brother is still young to do something like that. I don't know where I got the courage from but I speak.

"I'm sorry but he would be doing no such thing." if looks could kill he'll be dead by now because I'm glaring at him really hard. Mason just rolled his eyes and walked back inside

"I think he can speak for himself and if I'm going to ask for permission from anyone, I would probably ask his parents." he says casually and I swear I was getting really angry.

Why was I even doing this. Oh yeah I'm trying to protect my only brother. For all I know he is probably a serial killer.

Great, now the person I was protecting went ghost on me.

Cole keeps staring at me and I have already reached my boiling point but what shocks me is that he looks at my face weirdly then he stepped closer to me.

"Uh, personal space much... " I said feeling edgy as I took a step backwards. What came out his mouth next wasn't what I was expecting.

"You've got sweat on your nose". He said without any emotion on his face as he brought a white handkerchief out of his pocket and put it on the table beside me then walked past me and his shoulder slightly brushed mine.

I stood there shocked, I couldn't say anything. I just kept staring at the blank space in front of me.

Here I was thinking he'd continue arguing, He looked like the type though.  But I guess looks are deceiving.

" You okay honey? ". Grandma said jerking me back to reality. I didn't even notice she had come back already.

"What did Cole come over to do? ".

" Oh, I see you've met Olivia's grandson. A handsome young man he is, isn't he? And he's quite the charm".

I looked at her like she had already gone bonkers because the person she's talking about isn't the one I just met.

"Grandma, are you sure we're talking about the same person here? ". She chuckles,

"Yes darling, its the same person. Why did you ask? ".

"Nothing really, he just didn't come off as a kind person to me that's all".

" Oh I'm sure you just had a wrong first impression of him".

"If you say so." I said. Though I definitely didn't believe that.

"So you didn't answer my question earlier. "

" Oh that, he came to drop off my purse. I left it there. "

"Okay grandma. Let me help you carry those stuff, they seem heavy. " I tell her while taking the bags from the ground.

Picking the bags, we start towards the house. I could smell the freshly baked cookies. Setting the bags on the floor, I find Mason already eating some of the cookies mom left out on the table.

"Why did you go ghost on me bro? "

"Well you started acting like the over protective big sister and I got embarrassed, Do you know how  cool he is and you decided to go all ape on him. "

"I was just looking out for you because I know you wouldn't tell anyone about it . What if you got seriously Injured. "

"That's my problem not yours Lily. "And he stormed off.

So much for trying to protect his stupid ass.
