6. Complications

Now I really had to go! No way I was going to spend my summer around Damian, Vampires and first and foremost, Elijah, Ambers father. He had no idea he was a father, we only had a one night thing! He was from our pack, but he lived secluded. I think he was about 7 years older than me. As a girl I had a crush on him. He was gorgeous! Black curly hair and dark brown eyes that were just... indescribable. Even now seeing him made me a bit weak in the legs. 
But there was no way I could just stay there in the kitchen and stare at him. Especially with Damian there. He was incredibly handsome as well. In a completely different way. They both had a bit of bad boy quality. But Damian was way, way worse. His hair was short, brown and his eyes blue, dark blue. The way Damian could look at me was... creepy and a huge turn on. He could definitely undress you with his eyes. Like he was doing... Right now.
I was really happy I was the great at lying! And pretending nothing was going on. If I wasn't I would have been in big, big problems right now.
"Vampires?" That was the first word I could say. Maybe good. No attention for the 2 guys in the room. "They are roaming the forest around here. Me, my mate and some friends of ours were trying to scare them of. But It looks to be a really big group. So we came to warn your pack Alpha Daniell" Damian looked from me to Alpha Daniell as he spoke. He kept a submissive pose but I knew him better than that. He was up to something. There was another thing he just said that made me wonder his credibility. He said he had a mate. Only last night he was talking to me like he wanted to get me in bed again. Well that was not going to happen! His mate was probably just as crazy as him.
Alpha Daniell nodded. He didn't seem to happy having rogues in his town but Vampires would be an even bigger problem.  "They won't stay long, but we do want to show our gratitude for the warning" He said. 
Elijah never said a word. We exchanged only one look. I think he did recognized me but didn't show. Why? I don't know, I really didn't care anyway. I wasn't planning on telling him he was a father. I was planning to get the hell out of here. Out of this house and out of this town!

"Okay, well we are taking of anyway. Thanks for letting us stay Alpha Daniell, I think we will leave town  today. Goodbye" I stepped backwards out of the kitchen and gave Alpha Daniell a friendly smile before turning around and running up the big stairs up to our rooms. We had to leave... now!
"Get dressed right now!" I shut the door behind me walking straight up to Isabell who was still sleeping peacefully.  I shook her until she woke up. "Get up and get dressed we are leaving" I told her as she shot me an angry look. Amber waking her up was no problem. Me was a different story. "I was enjoying my sleep you know" She said pushing herself up. "I know but we have to go. Town is not... safe" My voice got softer. I knew the wolves downstairs would be able to hear us. And I wasn't counting on Alpha Daniell or even Elijah listening in. But Damian... yes he would. "Damian is here" I told her. She should know... if he was listening or not. She knew how dangerous he was.
Isabell was next to the bed in 1 second. "Where? Here? How!?"
"He said they are looking for shelter" I looked at her hoping she would understand without words I would understand. She nodded. "Let's go" I Wrapped my sling back on my shoulders and waist and put the still sleeping Amber in it. I covered her up completely so no one would be able to see her. Now I just had to hope she would stay asleep.
Isabell was dressed as soon as I was done with Amber and we left the room after tiding up a bit.
"We will go to my parents... they will understand when we leave because of these... complications" I said as we walked down the stairs. But there was somebody standing at the end of them. 2 somebody's. My arms immediately covered the sling with Amber as I saw Damian who was grinning. Next to him was Elijah. His arms across his chest as they waited for us. 
"Daniell want's to talk to you Honey" Damian said looking me straight in the eye. Yes he knew we wanted to leave. "And since when are you his ally" I asked narrowing my eyes as I looked at him. No way I was going to avert my eyes! He should know I wasn't scared of him!
"Oh, I just said I would tell you. I Wanted to ask you something too. Let's walk to his office together." Isabell already tensed up, I could see it from the corner of my eye. "Whatever" I said as if I couldn't care less. "I'll be right back" I looked at Isabell who looked concerned. But I couldn't show any signs of fear. Not even the smell of fear. My mind was in complete protective mommy mode.

I left Isabell and I didn't even look at Elijah. I acted like I didn't care. And he was not allowed te get a glimps of Amber. What If he would be able to smell If she was his. I had no idea how that worked. I would have to ask somebody at some point I think. 
"So, honey, just think about what you say" Damian stopped me tucking my messy hair behind my ear. "I know where to find you... And you wan't to keep that baby safe don't you?"
I couldn't believe he just threatened me and my baby! I couldn't help it now... I was definitely scared.
"Don't leave town honey... I would miss you" He stepped back, smiling that wicked smile of his and walked away. 
At that moment the door opened. 

"Lillith, Please come in" Alpha Daniel said. He stepped aside to let me in the room and closed the door. By the way he acted I knew he didn't hear what Damian just said. Our Alpha was a good one. Maybe he trusted to easy or maybe it was just this room. Maybe it was sound proof. I don't know. Right now I did wish he would have invaded my privacy. It was one of the things I hated about the pack. Now It wasn't just me. It was Amber too. And I had to keep her safe. 
"Everything okay Lillith?"
Alpha Daniell pointed me out to one of the chairs in his room. I sat down patting Amber's back. She fussed a bit but calmed down quickly as we stepped into the room. Maybe more because of the presence of Alpha Daniell than mine. Because I was still scared. And I was to scared to tell the Alpha. I couldn't risk the life of my baby girl. So I just nodded.
"I am fine, freaked out by Damian a bit and by the vampires" I lied as I looked up to the Alpha. He nodded. 
"I am not happy with them here either. Both the rogues and vampires but we have to make do." He sat opposite of me and looked at Amber. "And being a single mom? Is that working out?" He didn't sound judging at all and that kind of set me back. He smiled at me even. "I am not the one to judge you about your life choices Lillith." He told me seeing my surprise. 
"But I would like you to tell me more about Damian. Joshua told me you have a history" 
I knew this was going to happen. And now I knew I had to lie. So I just shrugged. "There is not much to tell. We had a thing when I was 18, when I just got in the city where I go to school. But I ended it" 
Alpha Daniell nodded. "Is there more to the story?" I averted my eyes as he looked at me. "Not really" 
He didn't use a command on me. I could keep lying although a part of me wanted to tell the truth. I just couldn't. I was too scared of Damian. I knew how twisted he was. And I knew he was smart... And when he wanted something. He took it! 
I had the feeling Alpha Daniell knew I was lying but he didn't say anything. He just sat there quietly. I looked back at him and he smiled. "You are safe here Lillith" He just said as he stood up. "Maybe you should stay a bit longer. At least until we know more about those vampires. I nodded. "Yes" I agreed. I had to stay. I was indeed safe here. Damian wouldn't try anything with Alpha Daniell looking out for me. Because I had the feeling he would keep an extra eye on me. I could see in his eyes he didn't believe my story. Still I was glad he didn't force the truth out of me. 

He let me out and I walked back to the main entrance of the house. Isabell was waiting there with Elijah still standing there.... Isabell had a weird look on her face. "Let's go home" was all I said and we left the house in silence. I gave Elijah a last look, all he did was nod without any facial expression.
I think we walked for a few minutes in silence when Isabell took my arm and pulled me closer. "I know Elijah is Amber's dad" She whispered.
