Kiss

"You know you so called 'mate' might not like you dancing the way we are going to do, or out dance outfits"
Isabell rolled her eyes. "My 'mate' can suck it" she said as we slowly walked up to the pack house. Amber was like us dressed up in her pretty dress and looking at us as she was laying in the stroller. I agreed on taking her with me, going to that stupid party, perform and go back home. But of course we had to dance an hour into the party so I had to be good and mingle. Great! Somehow I hoped Amber would get really cranky but she was very happy at the moment.

We were one of the first at the party, which was kind of nice, we were greeted by our Alpha who seemed happy to see us. "Great to see you again Lillith, how are you feeling?" He asked with a friendly smile. You could almost compare him with a father figure, he really seemed interested in how I was doing. "Okay, I guess" I said. It was funny how a man who had such a reputation as a big strong Alpha could be that fatherly. "Well you don't have to worry about anything tonight. There are now rogue's around or vampires" He smiled at me and then looked at Isabell. "My future daughter in law, you look lovely my dear, Blaine will be very pleased to see you" again he smiled to both of us and walked away to welcome others. "So how many other so called Alpha's are here? Isabell asked me as we parked the stroller and I got Amber out.
"Don't have a clue" I looked around. I didn't spot any so far. "Our pack is small but we have a few good allies. But they might not be so happy to come with that vampire threat and all."
Vampires weren't nice and sparkly... no twilight shit around if you looked at the real deal. They were monsters! Killing machines who did everything for fresh human blood. As werewolves we could handle them, but If you have a whole troop on your heels you are fucked!

Not much later we were talking with Lissa and Jess who would have a little rol in our dance at the end. We were just discussing the details as Isabell nudged me. "I have a dejavu moment" She said. "What?" I asked not understanding what she ment.
"Look who is checking you out" She nudged her head somewhere and I followed her eyes. "Ohw... that" I said and for some reason my cheeks turned red.
Isabell started laughing as she looked at me. "I knew you liked him"
"So what, there is nothing going to happen!"
"Who likes who?" Asked Jess and Lissa simultaneously.
"Elijah" Isabell said without hesitating.
"Ohw... but we know" Lissa grinned "She has liked him since, well forever" I rolled my eyes. "I don't have time for that kind of stuff girls... I am a mommy now!"
"that doesn't mean there is no time to flirt" Jess said and with that Isabell took Amber from my arms. "Go and dance with him." She said her eyes all sparkly with happiness.
I rolled my eyes, there were people dancing, old fashion dancing, But I highly doubted he wanted to dance with me. And then there was the problem of Josh standing on the other side of the room looking at me. I had been avoiding him since we got in. He sure wanted to talk to me but I wasn't planning on talking to him!
"He is coming this way!" Lissa suddenly said jumping up and down in excitement. I wish I could disappear there and then but my wish wasn't granted.
"Elijah! I didn't think you would attend this party" Isabell looked over my shoulder as she spoke happily.
"Usually It's not really my thing but sometimes I make exceptions. Ladies good evening" He stepped into our little circle and nodded to the girls. All of them were smiling as if they were crazy.
A sort of awkward silence followed and then Isabell spoke again. "Lillith was just wondering if you wanted to dance"
I rolled my eyes and gave her a deadly glance. I hated her so much right now!
"I am probably not that good of a dancer though" Elijah said, he looked at me with a grinn on his face. "Ah that doesn't matter, as long as I can leave these crazy people!" I said taking his hand and pulling him away from the girls. "Take good care of my baby!" I gave Isabell (who looked absolutely delighted with herself) one last look before I walked up to the dance floor with Elijah.

"So what was up with that?" he asked as he pulled me closer gently putting one hand on my lower back and took my hand in his other. "Nothing, stupid girl talk" I said realising he might have heard the whole thing. Great!
He grinned again slightly, he definitely heard the whole thing. "You are one of a kind Lillith" He said as we started dancing. It was a slow walz, nothing interesting but that was the way they danced here. I was surprised how easy he moved. He lead me perfectly without pulling or whatever.
"Is that good, or bad?" I asked.
"Both" He answered. I frowned and he smiled. "I think it is good, dangerous. But good"
"What would you mean with that?"
"That you get yourself into trouble because you are different from most of them"
"Them? You sound like you are excluding yourself from them"
"But I do... I don't fit in either" His smile disappeared. I realized that I didn't really know much about him. He had always been there when I was younger but who were his parents? Where was he from? I looked at him tilting my head a bit. And meanwhile we were still dancing he even twirled me around one time without any effort. We seemed to work in perfect sinc.
"It's unwise to like me" He said making me frown. "I have enemies, people who would rather see me gone. People who..." He looked over my shoulder, I knew he looked at Isabell who was holding Amber.
"It's just not smart."
"I never do what smart people do" I said without thinking. I had no idea what he meant but my gut told me it was something bad. My words made him smile for a second. "I mean, I rejected my mate... says enough" I had seen Josh looking at us. He wasn't happy. It frustrated me, he had nothing to say about me. He wasn't my mate anymore! And I would never take him back!
Again Elijah grinned "You intrigue me" he said in a whisper and with that he twirled me around one more time. When I was back in his arms our faces were incredibly close and then it just happened. We kissed, right there and then in the middle of the friggin dance floor. It made my heart race and my skin tingle. The feelings racing through my body were different from when I had found my mate. But I couldn't deny anymore that I didn't have feelings for Elijah. I was in love with him and probably always had been.
This kiss was electric and only lasted for a second and right after it we let go of each other. The song was done, and I looked around cautiously, Our kiss had been so short not many people had noticed. But I knew Isabell had seen it. And Josh of course.
Elijah looked at me and I looked back at him. I smiled awkwardly and he did the same. "Lillilth! come on we have to get changed!" Called Isabell. "Uh, see you later" I said and turned away from Elijah before he could say or do anything.
