"Have you gotten the second revision yet?" Asked Erdene

Poppy looked up and nodded

"That author sure took a liking to you"

"Im not sure how, I don't think I ever met them before"

"No one has"

"Exactly"

"But they insisted you always be the first to read it now, I guess he liked your input"

"He?" Asked Poppy

"You can tell by the hand writing" Erdene said "here read it yourself"

"Thank you for the revision on my work, usually I don't like when people correct my work, but I was enlightened by all the notes and details, I must insist from now on that your associate Poppy take the lead on this one, her little anecdotes and insight have been quite the pleasure. I hope our venture together continues to be fruitful"

"Wow" said Poppy.

A blush covered her cheeks.

"Well I'd happily oblige"

"Good" said Erdene

"It Friday tomorrow, feel like coming out?"

"Not really but thank you"

"Oh come onnnnn"

"Really?"

"I will beg" she said

"Fine fine fine" said Poppy

"Yay" Erdene squealed "Time to clock out, you need a new outfit"

"A new one? Realllly?"

"100%"

"Okay"

"Chin up babe" she said.

Poppy glanced down at her phone just hoping.

"Lets goooooo"

Poppy begrudgedly left with Erdene

Maybe she could try again

"Lets get your nails done first and then put together a killer outfit for you and then send you on home for a good nights rest.

20 outfits later Erdene finally decided on the outfit a little black dress with some white stilettos and white accessories.

Poppy spun around in the mirror, she felt pretty confident.

There was still a small longing in her heart but maybe it was time.

They purchased the clothes and Erdene happily drove her home.

Collapsing on to her bed, she stared at her phone and with a shaking hand hit the delete button.

"Poppy accepted being my right hand man... Well woman" said Quincy

"Did she?" Replied Tora

"Yes" he said " her little comments and anecdotes always brighten my day"

Tora just grumphed

"Do you not feel at least a little bit bad?" He asked Tora

"I feel terrible" said Tora "but I cannot risk her life"

"How would you risk her life?"

"Because my life isn't something I want her to be a part of, having to look over her shoulder everyday"

"You of all people could protect her"

"If something bad happened to her I could never live with myself, I don't want her to be mixed up in this life"

"Did you ask her?"

"What?"

"You never asked her"

"She doesn't know who I am" said Tora "she doesn't know the life I live everyday, who would want to be a part of that?"

"You didn't even give her a choice" said Quincy "If you're really have feelings for her, which you do, tell her who you are, let her decide"

Tora flicked his cigarette and threw his head back.

"I don't want to lose her"

"Well if that's the case, you are doing a shit job at proving it"

"She won't want to see me"

"And you know this how?" Quincy replied "I'll leave you with your thoughts"

Soon he was alone.

Could he really tell her? Would she still want him after? Can he make sure she is protected at all cost? You couldn't really say he loved her, then again he didn't quite know what love was.
