Part 2 of Nothing Good.

As mentioned before, I had originally written Nothing Good to be in A New Friend, but it didn't fit in with the rest of the story.

The gap between this start and finish is embarrassingly large. I wrote part one in two days, and this one took five months😅

I get off my board and debate knocking or not. Screw it; I walk up the steps and knock. "Ricky," she says, quite surprised, "it's good to see you. Please, come in."

"Thanks, Emily."

Nini
I was up in my room, staring out the window. I sent out a mass text to our friends asking if they'd seen him. Nothing. The sun was almost completely gone, so it'll be dark out soon. That's when I heard a knock at the front door. "Mike, come on in," Mama C said. I jumped out of bed and ran down the stairs.

"Hey, Nini. No, I haven't found him yet," he says with sad eyes.

"Every text I get is someone saying they don't have a clue where he is," I say.

"A person is considered missing after twenty-four hours. Tomorrow night we'll call the police," Mama D says, coming around the corner.

"I keep calling him and nothing," Mike says.

"I'm gonna go back on my phone," I say going back upstairs.

Ricky
"Ok, Ricky, what are you doing here?" Emily asked me, handing me a bowl of soup. I didn't feel like eating, but I knew I had to.

"I ran away. Is that not obvious enough?" I deadpan.

The blonde-haired woman didn't look amused. "I meant what's the reason this time?"

"Mom," I whisper.

"She's back in town?"

"Without warning too."

Emily was who I went to when I first heard about the divorce a year ago. I go to her when I don't want to drag my friends into my downward spiral. She's also in school to be a therapist, which helps. And my cousin on my mom's side but a lot more considerate. "What has Lynne done this time?"

"Well, for one, she's engaged." Her eyes go wide.

"To Todd?"

"Yeah, that's not even all of it." I can see the worry on her face.

"What else?"

"She's," I clear the lump in my throat, "she's pregnant."

"She's WHAT??!" Emily exclaims, standing up.

"They found out a few weeks ago. Apparently, it was 'too important to tell over the phone,' so she just decided to show up," I said with clear annoyance.

"I'm so sorry."

I shake my head. "It's not your fault."

"Are you going to the wedding?"

"I don't know. I don't want to watch her marry another man, but I'm afraid of making the wrong choice."

"It is your decision. Don't let her pressure you into going if you really don't want to."
