I arrived at work at half past eight I sat down in the chair waiting for Kole to come in. I had already sat a coffee down at his table waiting for him to come in. I started on the files in front of me trying to retain as much of then information as I can. As I finish a file I would file it.

Kole came in at ten past nine. He held in his hands two cups of coffee. I smiled "I read your mind, there is a cup on your desk."

He grinned sitting the cup on the edge of my desk. I picked it up gently blowing on it. He sat on the chair in front of me "how are you settling in?"

I shrugged "I can't answer that yet. I have only just started, maybe ask me at the end of the week."

He bought the cup of coffee I brought him up to his lips "Tuesday next week I am travelling to New York for work. I require that you come."

I nod along with him "I will book flights, a car and accommodation. Is there anything else you need?"

He shook his head "just make sure you pack for cold weather, it gets cold this time of the year."

I rolled my eyes "I am capable of packing, thank you very much."

He got up from the chair walking over to his desk "read as much as you can. Make the booking after lunch. Please can you book something with a nice view and good reviews on restaurants in or nearby the hotel."

I smiled nodding my head "you aren't hard to please are you?" I asked sarcastically.

He nodded sitting down in the overly large desk chair "I like the finer things in life."

I continued to read the files until lunchtime and that only got me ha,way through the pile. I walked over to Kole's desk "would you like lunch, Mr Williams?"

A cocky look passed over his face "no, that's okay. I will grab my own later."

I looked down to my watch "it's two o'clock, Kole."

He looked down to his own watch "I'll come with you, I need to stretch my legs. I can't believe I lost that amount of time. How are you going reading through these files?"

I shrugged "I can memorise their names and faces it's where they come from that stumps me."

Kole laughed "you remember the names I roughly know the company they come from. I usually call them by their company name anyway. I nodded "where would you like to go for lunch."

Kole smiled "there is a really good lunch bar down the road. A friend of mine owns it so he always suggests the most amazing things."

I smiled "let's go."

I placed my hand in my pocket when he placed his palm on the small of my back leading me to the restaurant. I smiled when I saw the sign above the door "dad once brought me a sandwich from here, it was amazing."

Kole grinned "it took forever to convince your dad to come here, he wanted to always visit his regular but I forced him to give it a try now he eats here more than I do."

We walked over to a table towards the back of the room where the kitchen door was. I sat in the booth first and then Kole followed me in "Michael is headed this way, you would love him." Kole got out of the booth again the give Michael a bro hug. I smiled  at the pair before they turned their attention to me "Michael, this is Morgan, Robbie's girl."

Michael nodded taking my hand kissing the back of it "I have heard a lot of wonderful things about you."

I blushed "it's good to finally meet you, I'm personally a fan of your food."

The man beamed at me "I have a special meal I could recommend to the both of you if you are up to it."

I looked over to Kole to see him already nodding. Once Michael walked away Kole sat back in the booth, his thigh against my own. He reached into his suit pocket pulling out his phone, I glanced to see my dad was ringing but he ignored. Kole nervously laughed "I heard that you told your dad about university, how did it go?"

I shrugged "we aren't talking at the moment. He's mad at me for not studying but I am an adult. The decision was mine and dad needs to understand that. You should already know since you heard about it."

Kole nodded "I talked to him about it but he then avoided the subject. He will get past it."

As tears came to my eyes he threw his arm around my shoulder pulling me into his chest "I hate when he's angry at me, I feel I have disappointed him."

Kole gently kissed my forehead "you can never disappoint him, he tells me all the time he is proud of you. He just needs time to except that you have a different idea of your future then he does."

His other arm came up to my face cupping it. His thumb wiped away the one stray tear.  I leaned into his side burying my face into his shoulder breathing in his masculine cologne. When I finally pulled away was when Michael sat our plates on the table. Kole laughed "Michael made his famous sandwiches."

I pulled around from him a bit more but his arms remained around my hip for the duration of lunch. It was awkward at first but that was mainly because I was sorting through my mind. On the way back to the office we walked on the opposite ends of the footpath, which, I'm sure would have been funny if we weren't avoiding each other.
