She went to sit on one of the stool patting the seat beside her, I followed her sitting down. I spoke before she had the chance "it's not what you think."
Charlotte nodded her head smiling "you don't know what I am thinking. I will share my thoughts just in case you think wrong. I think you and Kole are in a relationship. A new relationship that doesn't yet involve other people like your father. Please know I have no intentions on telling him it is none of my business."
I grinned at her appreciatively "thank you. I didn't mean to enter into anything with him. It kind of happened when I began to work with him. Spending all day everyday with him kind of brought us together."
Charlotte placed her hand calmly on my shoulder "make sure you are more cautious from now on."
I wrapped my arm around Charlotte hugging her "thank you for doing this for me."
When dad and Kole rejoined us we all sat down for a quick breakfast before we all had to leave for work. Kole and I drove together. I grabbed his hand that was resting on his thigh "Charlotte knows about our relationship. She caught me coming out of your room this morning and she isn't going to tell my dad."
Kole face was blank as he pulled into his parking space. "If you trust her than I trust her."
As we got in side the building I let him going. I went straight up to our office pouring us both a cup of coffee. Kole then entered the room in a haste, I ignored him going straight to filing. Twenty minutes until lunch time there was a call. I picked it up chirping the usual "hello Williamson Corp, Morgan speaking."
A polite voice spoke on the other end "hi, I'm needing to talk to Kole."
I clicked on my pen "is he expecting your call."
She laughed into the phone "tell him it's Paula Williamson, his wife."
I glanced over to Kole. My whole world stopped "his wife..."
She laughed happily "is he there?"
I nodded more to myself "I will put you threw."
I glanced up to him to see him watching me "your wife is on the line."
I took off my employee badge leaving it on the desk. I walked out of the building collecting my things from Kole's place. I had loaded the car and drove back to my dads place. Charlotte was sitting on one of the stools in the kitchen. She looked up as she saw me. She dropped her spoon rushing over to me "what's wrong sweetie?"
I cried into her arms "Kole is married. His wife called the office today to speak to him. He never told me."
She cuddled my soothingly rubbing my back "it's going to be okay sweetie. Did he say anything?"
I shook my head "I put her on hold and transferred the call. I walked out and packed my bags. There is no explanation as to why he has a wife and is also dating me. He is attached to someone else."
She left me to go upstairs without asking anymore questions. I threw my things in the floor refusing to unpack I had every intentions on moving out at the end of the week if not the end of the fortnight. Dad was shocked to see me later than night but on Charlotte's request he didn't ask any questions.
Kole tried to call for half the night but I ignored him, I spent the next two days in bed feeling bad for myself before I even entered back into public. I had ducked down to the shops for ingredients for dinner. As I was coming down to my car an arm held my upper arm stopping me. I was pulled into a firm warm chest "it isn't what you think."
Tears came to my eyes as I tried to hold them back he continued "I am married but it isn't because of love. I am married because she needed a green card. Paula was my cousins girlfriends and when he passed away she was stranded here all alone. Me became friends and she even moved in with me but they government wanted to deport her when her school visa e dead. We tried to get it extended. It the only option was to marry. We both had conditions and a prenup was drawn. I never loved her romantically but she is a good friend."
I pulled away from him hugging myself "it doesn't matter, you are married."
He took a step towards me but I placed my hands on his chest keeping him at arms length "it does matter. I had asked her for a divorce. She wants to meet the woman that has me wanting to change. I have never needed to divorce Paula but then I started a relationship with you. I want to be with you Morgan. I love you, baby."
Tears heavily fell from my face "if you had said those three words this morning I would have been over the moon but you weren't honest with me. How can you claim to love me when you didn't even think to tell me the truth that you are married. Surely it didn't slip your mind? Answer me!"
I could see as the tears welled in Kole's eyes "it slipped my mind because it's not something that I think of because she isn't my real wife in the sense of the word. We were doing each other a favour. I lost my cousin shortly after my brother that decision was make with a clouded mind but I made it. I can't apologise enough but I can't change the fact that I am married. My lawyer has been drawing up divorce papers for the both of us to share. Will you wait for me?"
I shook my head "you can't ask that of me...you...are...married. I don't care the reason. You hurt me."
