"What did you need help with?" Hunter set his keys down next to Ash. She was focused on the papers in front of her, her long hair in a thick bun. She turned around and smiled, moving so she could hug Hunter. "Hey there," Hunter wrapped his hands around her waist and put his chin on top of her head.
"I'm sorry for being so short-tempered," Ash whispered into Hunter's chest. He looked down and tightened the hug, feeling her frail body under his. He closed his eyes and exhaled slowly.
"It's fine, Ash." She pulled away from Hunter and sat back down in her chair. Hunter looked over Ash's shoulder to see the English assignment laid out. "But, what did you need help with?"
"A scene. I need help setting a scene."
Hunter pulled a chair next to Ash and sat down to look at the four pages. Yellow high lighter marks ran across the paper.
"What kind of scene?"
"A date... Of sorts..." She shrugged
Hunter furrowed his eye brows and took the papers into his hand.
"The assignment is to write another persons life... Why are you..." His voice trailed off.
"Writing about a persons life in today?" Ash finished Hunter's question. Her blue eyes were trained on Hunter's face as he looked over the papers.
"Why a date scene?" He asked. Ash giggled and pointed to the empty part of the page.
"It has to be four pages typed," Ash ran her finger down the paper. "I figured I write the scene of a date for her and... Well..." She smiled and blushed. "I've never been on a date."
"Bull shit, you've had to have gone on a date at some point," Hunter put turned to look at Ash who had leaned closer into his shoulder. Their lips just centimeters apart.
"Never," her breath smelled like mint, and Hunter quickly pulled away from Ash and stood up.
"Alright, I got this," Hunter was fast at collecting a table, a table cloth, several candles and two glasses of wine. He set the table in Ash's room and picked her up from her chair and moved her over to the table.
"Put me down!" Ash squealed as she locked her hands behind Hunter's neck. He laughed and set her feet on the ground, holding her by her hips. Ash stood on her toes and looked up at Hunter. He sighed and brushed a strand of hair from her face.
"Sit down, munchkin," Hunter murmured. Ash pulled away and Hunter reluctantly let her hips go. They both sat across from each other and grabbed their glasses, both filled with red wine.
"So... How do dates work?" Ash asked as she stared into her glass. Hunter swirled his then took a sip. Hazel nut was strong against his lips as he swallowed the red wine.
"Well, I'd say in an old fashioned way," Hunter pointed down at the table. "I'd be the one to ask you. And I'd give you a time to be ready. You would come out and I'd either be stunned or..." Hunter smiled. "I'd take you for dinner. And by the end of the date, it's really up to you."
"What's up to me?" Ash asked as she took a sip from her wine glass. Hunter notices that her blue eyes had turned misty grey in the dim light as he took another sip of his wine glass.
"Whether I get to come in or give you a kiss," Hunter set his wine glass down and stared into Ash's eyes.
"If I don't let you in?"
"I kiss your hand and bid you good night."
"If I do let you in?" Ash's eyes went down to her hands.
"I... Take you to your room and lay you down on your bed," Hunter smiled as he looked up to Ash's blushing face. He knew this girl was something.
