Veronica really didn't know what was next now, Professor Grey had told her everything and she was just sitting on campus at the large chessboard watching as a couple played the game against one another before she felt someone sit down next to her.
"He told you, that's good. It proves he is still the same Professor that allowed me to reach my potential."
Veronica did not have to turn her head or adjust herself so she could hear the woman better. She already knew, her voice sent chill down her spine and all she did was meet her eyes, deciding that this was going to be something necessary, it was clear to her in that regard.
"He has always been the same professor, some of us decided not to pervert his teachings to fit our plans for death and destruction. Some of us were ready for how he wished to teach us."
A bout of laughter escaped Melissa, knowing that this was something Veronica would have a hard time even getting used to.
"Hmm, I didn't pervert it Melissa, I'm doing what I have to do. Something you wouldn't understand but Professor Grey does, he doesn't know it yet but he knows it pretty well. That moment in the classroom, where he tried to get me to see reason, I didn't see pity in his eyes. I saw understanding and from that day, I...knew he was the same man who gave me this spark."
A snarl left Veronica and she turned to face Melissa, her body seemingly tuned in with something as Melissa hackles had risen. Looking at Veronica in a new light, she wasn't afraid, she was intrigued, her interest stirred and she wished to see what the young woman could or would do in the future.
"He is a Professor but beyond that, he has our interests at heart, he gave us a piece of his story, he allowed us in. He broke down a wall between Student and Professor, it hardly even seems like that to all of us, it's like he is one of us. He's more than just an outlet for you, a therapist, someone to give you a nice little feeling for all of the lives you will hurt-"
"And what about MINE!? HUH!? My mother, forgotten and killed! Damnatio Memoriae, every single thing she did here is but a deleted chronicle in Belgrave's dark history. My mother was a good woman, she had the best interests of all of us! My life is different, huh? Cause what Veronica? No, come on, you know me so well! I'm the bad guy, I'm the one you run from but have I hurt you?"
Veronica was silent as she realized that she had crossed the line, all of us sudden, Melissa stood from her spot next to her and for a fleeting moment, Veronica felt a bout of fear run through. Something that Veronica seemingly noticed.
"You have no answer besides fear? I'm not a bad person, I am doing this so that I can finally get the justice my mother deserved. I'm not killing the good ones, I'm not killing the innocent, I'm killing the ones that got in the way of my mother's justice."
Shivering under her gaze, Veronica felt herself locked in place as she tried to turn away only for Melissa to grip her chin softly bringing their eyes to meet for a few fleeting seconds.
"Maybe I finally got through to you, Crane."
Veronica finally looked away as Melissa too walked away, and both of them may have understood the other at that moment for a few fleeting moments that finally, the world was not as it seemed and that sometimes justice was needed in different ways.

"Been a long time Professor, can we have a talk?"
A small chuckle escaped the professor, it seemed that everyone wanted his time and he turned his head finding Hamish and Cassie, only this time felt a number of things coming from them. He gasped once again, it was soft, so soft that only Hamish and Cassie with their sensitive heard before he looked at them with an eerie mile.
