"Ugh....I really gotta start drinking coffee if-"

"You're awake, finally. We've been waiting for you Professor..."

Now knowing that he wasn't exactly alone, the professor glanced up and saw Melissa, she stood over him in superiority, her eyes held kindness but her body language said differently and he didn't know whether to challenge her or to watch for now. Something inside him told him to watch, to see with his eyes.

"And how did I get here? And...ugh!"

Falling to his knees, holding onto a table he looked up at her as he felt a plethora of emotions overwhelm him in force and all of it was fear....fear of dying, fear of not being loved, fear of being alone...he found himself looking up at her but it wasn't coming from her.

"What have you done to me? AHHH!"

He screamed with all his might and his voice soon cracked as the wolves made themselves known, rushing in to find Xander on the floor, scratching at the flooring as Melissa stood there in worry.

"Nothing, what do you feel Professor?"

"Fear...I see blood...I see spheres of flame and golden energy wrapping around...-"

He cut himself off suddenly, tilting his head as he felt a calm come over him and for a moment the wolves had thought that he would be his tranquil self for a moment.

"I know what to do, you've sent five witches into a massacre. The Order has called everyone....all their acolytes and medicums, you are going to be fighting a losing battle unless the wolves get involved."

And it was like that they realized what had settled over them, guidance. A seer was often like an advisor, someone to guide and give their partners a piece of advice to help them to combat the witches of the order. To see them through their destiny, as they had seen in their minds.

Hamish felt himself coming to grips to it but his wolf had settled, almost like it felt a wave of peace within itself that the Professor could easily calm him.  He didn't know what it was like but he felt himself grip Cassie's hands, feeling each other's worry for a second before it was brushed aside with love for one another.

Randall nodded his head, he was being surprisingly calm, no jokes came about from this. He knew what was at stake, they had all made the choice to protect Xander. They knew what role to play during this moment and it was clear that they would be brought to the frontlines of this battle.

Melissa nodded, all the same to her in the end, she could feel how the Professor soothed her mind, putting her at peace that she would get what she deserved. Her mother's revenge, she had never known when he had arrived that he would be the one to give her this. Her history, it was finally time to destroy the order.

Xander had turned his back to them, his mind going over what he had seen, Vera and Alyssa had fought side by side against the witches who were unknowingly powered by him. He bowed his head, his mind coming to terms with what it was finally trying to tell him.

He didn't feel like a guide or advisor, he felt like he was a curse. Maybe this was the way it was always going to be, with a scoff at himself he walked out and intended to dress for the occasion. These clothes were not going to suit him anymore.

Continuing his self-reflection, Xander knew why he had felt understanding of Melissa. She had used him, without knowing it. His power as a Seer or better yet, an Empathetic-Seer was to understand his bonded, to make them come to terms with what had happened, Melissa had used that as a fuel.

To bring about her crusade and he did not feel right with it. Yet, with what he saw, with was going to happen, he found himself ready for his new role next to the wolves and possibly witches of Belgrave University.

"We're ready, it is time to head into the battlefield Xander."

Turning his head, he flashed a classic smile with a raised brow before taking the arm of Melissa, soothing her once again as a ball of swirling golden energy wrapped around them before they came to stop at the wolves who bowed their heads to them.

Before they left, Xander gave Cassie a sad smile before he remembered their conversation. She had accepted it with ease but he knew, there was something in her eyes that wished to change what was to come....

Flashback

Cassie and Xander talked, they were having a moment before the battle came to take one of their lives. Yet Xander knew, he felt it, the severing of a connection during that moment.

"I have to tell you Cassie, and I'm sorry that I cannot truly foresee or stop what is to come...I hope you'll be able to forgive me because all I feel like is that I am helpless, that I have no meaning! I gave guidance to a teenager and here she is, ready to make the powerful order quake in their very boots!"

Slamming his fist down on the table, tears flowed freely down his cheeks and Cassie reached out...stroking away the tears for the moment. Like that, a wave of peace came over him and he sobered up..he didn't know how to do this, how to be an empathetic seer, it killed him, it hurt his very being whenever something came to him.

He acted that way because he had finally remembered but he could not be something he was not, he could not be calm, tranquil when one of his allies was going to suffer a fatal loss, another was to lose a dear mentor...

"You're going to die Cassie....a fatal blow to the Knights and one to your lover, I'd give him one final goodbye. Something that he holds onto forever, I truly am sorry that I cannot help you."

Cassie grasped his hand, she could see that he was placing this on himself as if he was the one to strike the blow and she could see the pain in his eyes as if losing her, a member of the Knights, a friend and ally. It was like he lost a piece of himself and maybe that is what it was like for an Empathetic-Seer, seeing the future, feeling and seeing your friend had to take a toll on your psyche.

"You've helped me in ways you cannot imagine Xander, I've felt the love that Hamish and Randall have for me. I have grasped it with both hands and I cherish it, all because of you, all because of the professor who inspired us to protect him. You gave me that gift, do not think I will perish without a fight...I'm a werewolf after all."

They both chuckled before finally departing, spending their moments with their loved ones as they both knew that only one of them would return....the battle would soon come and it would change the Belgrave Order forever.
