Dormant Demons(Bonus Chapter)

The abyss had been raging from within yet in the span of almost 10 months, it kept its composure and everyone within it.

After all, it is not just the abyss which causes misfortune in the Land of Dawn. New entities have appeared or awakened, the Land of Dawn never ran out of problems with everyone living on it.

Selena let some black sand fall from her right hand slowly, she stood still, looking at the mirror lake.

She stood at the same place where she was with Dyrroth for the last time. She waited every day, hoping that he will return.

Selena was never alone because of her abyssal demon yet she would always long for him.

As soon as the last particles of the sand fell from her hand, Selena turned back and walked away from the lake, leaving their paradise. Selena went back to her lair and not a single sound or movement of demons were felt. She went around her lair and came to where Dyrroth used to stay when they were training.

Selena chuckled as a memory flashed back - when it was Dyrroth's first day and he was sleeping- and she recalled him sleeping until he was awakened by his dream.

"I miss you..." Selena whispered.

Suddenly the abyss shook momentarily. Selena felt something so she quickly ran and summoned the demon to morph herself. She dashed and made her way to the top as fast as possible.

Meanwhile at Alice's lair, Argus appeared by the Lord of the Abyss' command. Thamuz, Alice and her pawns were also there.

"Don't be foolish Argus, we are using this time to increase our number, even if the others are dormant, we are expecting a stronger force of demons and orcs," Alice said as she crossed her legs.

"We have been silent for too long, the empire is slowly advancing to contain this area and they believe that we have surrendered. We must make haste," Argus replied swinging his sword.

"Easy for you to say, but we are still in command here. Let the empire believe what they want, they will never succeed," said Thamuz.

"Besides, we are still waiting for Dyrroth. He will change everything when he returns," said Alice.

"You are wasting your time for someone we don't even know if he would return!"

"Dyrroth will return! He will return. If you are too impatient for that time then go ahead and make your own move. We are not idiots to execute plans without him," Alice said as she stood from her throne spreading her wings giving Argus a deadly glare.

"Well then construct as many plans as you can, I'm just here to serve the Dark Lord. I suggest that you gather every possible being willing to fight for the abyss. Some alliance perhaps, but we know how many possible alliance you have wasted, like those two blood demons..." Argus said

"I didn't waste any alliance Argus, and those two preferred to be on their own. Besides, isn't Selena and Dyrroth enough for us to see with their shameless display of affection?Now excuse me..." Alice said as she rolled her eyes. 

Alice flew away from her lair leaving the other demons, she went far as she could.

Selena was getting close to her destination when she was distracted by the sight of Dyrroth's throne. She quickly morphed back to her elven form and started running her touches on the throne.

"Didn't expect seeing you Selena..." Alice said as she landed 3 feet away behind Selena.

"Someone came into abyss..." Selena replied as she turned back to face her.

"It was just Argus, the Dark Lord summoned him here. That green idiot doubts Dyrroth. He thinks he won't return..."

"I see..."

"How about you, do you really believe he'll return?"

"Of course...only I am not sure if he'll return as the Dyrroth we know. What kind of a question is that Alice? Do you doubt him as well?

"I never doubted Dyrroth. He was like a son to me, I was strict because I don't want him to go too far. I'm glad I had the chance to tell my apologies. Then he's changed. Found himself as you said. Now, I'm just hoping as you...waiting for him to return."

"He will."

Selena turned away and walked her path back to her lair.

Selena went back straight to her bed. She felt so tired but she was unable to sleep right away. Memories kept coming back, along with the anxiety. Tears slowly fell from her eyes as she kept changing her sleeping position. She finally ended up by curling herself. Slowly she fell asleep but with the pain in her heart.

It was peaceful until the abyss trembled once more. This time it was stronger.

Selena quickly rose up and ran outside. She made her way up until she heard a faint voice calling out to her. She followed to where the voice was coming from. Selena noticed she was taking the path to where their paradise was located, she felt a deep feeling inside her and her heartbeat sounded loud.

The shaking stopped and so did the voice calling out to her. She finally reached the paradise and was surprised to what she saw. She placed both of her hands in her mouth and slowly walked to what she was seeing. She finally brought her hands down, her eyes widened.

There stood before her, Dyrroth, or what it seemed to be, looking at the lake. He was taller and her hair was longer as if he had grown.

Selena gave a big sigh.

"Dyrroth...?"

Dyrroth slowly turned back and faced Selena. He looked at her yet it felt like he was dead inside.

Selena was confused, she felt fear in him for the first time.

Dyrroth suddenly charged and dashed towards Selena who stood frozen in confusion. She knew this was what she feared the most, Dyrroth forgetting about her.

Selena just closed her eyes placing her arms in front of her.

But what welcomed her was warms arms wrapped around her, Selena opened her eyes and found herself being cuddled by Dyrroth. She instantly wrapped her arms around him and started crying.

"Welcome back...I've missed you," she whispered.

"I'm here now..." he replied.

I decided to just publish this part instead of finishing some editing cause I know it will really take me ages to finish >-<

This bonus chapter is actually the first chapter of the book 2 ^-^

Well I'm not sure when will I make the book 2 although I have lots of plans already. But I will release something else soon ;) I left some hints, anyone could guess what could it be about?
