WARNING: SOME PROFANITY IN THIS CHAPTER.
MADDIES POV
I dreaded this morning. Why, you might ask? It's Monday. Monday is one if the worst days of the week. After weekends if doing whatever you want, of course school just has to come up. I almost forgot about my homework, but I managed to stay up until 12:30 last night finishing it. I groaned as my stupid alarm clock blared my wake up call."Ugh," I groaned. I was especially tired. Staying up until after midnight isn't such a good idea when you have to wake up at 6:00 to get ready for school.
I managed to pull myself out of my warm, comfortable bed after contemplating faking sick and staying home. I dragged my body to the bathroom and closed the door so I could take a shower.
•••••••••
I had taken a shower, blow-dried and brushed my hair, gotten an outfit together, and brushed my teeth by around 7:25. School started in around 15 minutes, so I quickly hopped down the stairs to grab an apple for breakfast. When I walked into the kitchen, Kenzie's back was turned to me. Mom was talking to her seriously, but when she saw me she stopped.
"Good morning, Maddie." Mom said.
I stopped in my tracks and folded my arms. I looked at Mom. "What's happening?" I asked in a demanding voice.
Mom sighed. "You saw me talking to Kenzie, didn't you?"
I nodded and kept my arms folded.
Mom sighed and put her head in her hands. After a few seconds, she lifted her head and motioned for me to sit down. I looked at her strangely and walked over to the chair.
"Madison, your cousin Mahalia is coming to stay with us for a while."
"Ugh!" I groaned. Mahalia hates me. Ever since I became famous from Dance Moms, at every family reunion she always had to tell me I was a spoiled brat, and Ms. Abby only liked me because I had a "face meant for the camera". I understood why mom was talking sternly to Kenzie; she was most likely telling her to make sure that Mahalia and I don't get into fights.
"Why is she coming to stay with us?" I asked.
"Her mother and father said that she has been very troublesome lately, and that she needs to be around girls more her age." (A/N: keep in mind that Mahalia is 15 and Maddie is 16 in this story:))
"For how long?"
"2 weeks." Mom answered.
"Are you kidding me?" I groaned and picked up an apple from the fruit bowl in the middle of the kitchen counter. I took a bite, the crisp apple delicious on my tongue.
"You have to be nice to her and try to hang out with her. If you don't play nice, you could be grounded," Mom warned me.
I made a distressed noise and rolled my eyes.
"Mom, please drive me to school," Kenzie asked. I nodded and said, "Me too."
••••••••
The lunch bell blared, loudly telling us it was time to get out of class. I sighed, thankful for the class interruption. I picked up all of my books, including my binder, and headed out to my locker.
I put in the combination and swung open the locker. Damn it. I forgot to bring a lunch. I realized. Sighing, I shut my locker and locked it. I could do one day without lunch. I turned around, about to walk down the hallway, when suddenly-
"OW!" A high-pitched voice squealed. Sadly, I had bumped into the devil. Well to be more exact, the devil bumped into me.
"Watch where you're going, bitch!" Zara half squeaked, half shouted. Her posse stood behind her, folding their arms in an annoyed way. I can see why Kendall said Zara wasn't as sweet as she seemed. She is a popular, after all.
"Actually, YOU bumped into ME. No need to use profanity," I said, wagging my finger in her face to annoy her. It worked.
She looked at me, with a shocked look on her face. "Excuse me? Who said you could talk to me like that?"
I smirked and folded my arms, mocking Zara and her posse. "I did, sweetie."
Now, I'm not the type to fight with the populars, but then again, populars never talk to low lives like me, unless they're pretending to be nice.
Zara's shocked face melted into anger, but only for a second. Then, her facial expression turned into those of a know-it-all. "You're just an invisible at this school. Do you want me to tell everyone that you were rude to one of the nicest, most popular, and most fashionable in this school?"
I rolled my eyes. This girl was obnoxious. "Oh, please. You're everything BUT nice."
Then, she smirked the same way I was, and said, "Well, at least I'm not the best friend of a dead girl."
That was it. Bitch mode, activate. "Who the hell do you think you are? It's your god damn fault that she's dead. You hurt her until she actually wanted to end her own life!"
Zara's eyes looked somewhat sad, for the glimpse of a second. Then, the anger came back, more raging than ever. "Shut up. Just, shut up!"
I felt a strike of pain brush across my face. I gasped and threw a hand to my face. She slapped me! The bitch actually slapped me! My anger had built up to the point of no return. Everything that she had done to Kendall, and now this, was too infuriating. Without thinking of the consequences, I slapped her right back.
People had been starting to crowd around us, watching the fight. It pissed me off even more. Maybe I didn't have the right to be so furious, but I was. Everyone crowding around us had starting chanting, "Fight! Fight! Fight!" like the cliche thing you always see in movies.
"Hey, hey hey!" An angry man pushed through the crowd. I turned around from Zara to see who it was. To my inconvenience, it was the awful, unkind Vice Principal, Mr. Cannon. Oh no. What have I done?

Authors note-
Hey everyone! I'm back! Hope you liked this chapter. I know it's not that great, but my next chapter will have another reason why Kendall did it! I promise! This chapter is a little thrown together, but now that I am back, I will make better chapters. Love you guys and thank you for sticking with me, even though I suck at updating.
