Chapter 26. Crowd left in awe

"Huh? Isn't it the Decan clan's turn. How did a girl with a different surname get a turn? And it right after the clan head's son."

The crowd was left in confusion as they couldn't find an answer.

"Wellbloom... There's no clan in Sapphire city called Wellbloom."

As the crowd grew more confused, the Decan clan head stood up from his chair and walked to the edge and looked down at the arena and the spectators.

Seeing the clan head stand up, the crowd immediately quietened down as Aron was someone that they could not afford.

"Ladies and gentlemen, I can understand that you are very confused about this situation," said the clan head in a relaxed unhurried tone as he continued, "the officiators have not made a mistake, the next two children are supposed to be in this test. Please quiet down. They are added to this test because the grand elder of the Decan clan said so. Please continue."

Hearing this, the crowd had their questions somewhat answered so they did not make any further noise as they stayed silent, waiting for Aurora to continue.

Meanwhile, the situation in the clan seating area was slightly disturbed. Everyone was extremely curious about the identity of the two children. Hearing the mention of the grand elder only helped fuel their curiosity.

Aurora calmly walked to the crystal and looked around to Leo. After receiving a nod from him, she proceeded to place her dainty white hands on the crystal.

Immediately, the crystal shone with a blinding light and covered the whole arena as it radiated an extremely comfortable holy light for a few seconds and then dimmed.

Amazing! How nice!

The crowd was in shock, everyone in the arena... even the clan heads were in shock.

This light completely outshone Wallace's light. If compared, it was like a teddy bear facing a grizzly bear.

It took about thirty seconds for the crystal to dim and the rings to form.

The officiator quickly walked up to the crystal to determine the talent, it seemed that even he was extremely anxious to see the talent of Aurora.

As he approached the crystal, his initial expression grew even more shocked as his eyes bulged in amazement while his body turned stiff due to unbelief. He slowly turned to the crowd and loudly spoke out, "T-Ten-ringer gold affinity!"

"WHAAAAAAAAAT?!?!"

"HUH? Did I hear it wrong?"

"A ten-ringed?"

The crowd blew up in screams and shouts of amazement. The thought of a ten-ringed gold affinity had never even crossed his mind as the city had never seen a talent of this caliber. The highest talent that they had ever witnessed was a five-ringed gold affinity. Aurora's talent was simply mind-blowing.

"Sapphire city has never seen a ten-ringed gold affinity before!"

While the situation in the arena was blowing up, the atmosphere in the clan head area was in total disarray.

They were casually sipping on some tea but when they heard it, they all immediately spat out the tea as they looked towards the arena full of amazement.

A ten-ringed gold affinity... This was a talent that was rare even in the whole empire and it somehow ended up in a little girl whose face was covered by a veil. If news of this broke out. Every sect in the empire would try and recruit her, she might even get admitted into sects from outside the empire if lucky.

This was horrible news for the clans in Sapphire City as they all constantly fought for power and the rule of Sapphire City.

"Hahaha. Wow, amazing. I cannot believe that Grand Elder has such good luck," laughed out the Decan clan head as he was filled with happiness. When his son got a one-ringed gold affinity, he was happy but was still quite uncomfortable as the difference between a one-ringed and two-ringed was still quite a leap. However, the news of Aurora's talent had erased his worries as he would not have to worry about the power struggle anymore as the next generation of the Decan clan was looking positive.

Meanwhile, the Weaver clan head, Wade, had an extremely ugly expression on his face. He had worked very hard and planned to overtake the Decan clan and gain control over Sapphire City but the existence of Aurora had suddenly blocked his path.

"Impossible... This cannot be happening!" a voice shouted out in the arena.

"The crystal must be malfunctioning!" the voice continued.

Hearing this, everyone's eyes turn to the source of the voice. Wallace was in complete disbelief as he angrily blurted out those words.

The officiator suddenly got angry as he turned to Wallace and coldly spoke out, "are you doubting the work of a stage 5 blacksmith?"

Wallace was suddenly lost for words and did not have any time to think over this as Aurora returned and walked towards him, stopping just 7 feet before him.

She softly spoke in a happy tone, "it's time. You have to let Thomas off and apologize to him."

Hearing this, Wallace was completely angered as he could not believe that he lost to a girl. And not just that, because of the bet, he now had to publicly apologize to a commoner.

Seeing Wallace not move for a while, Aurora looked at him and asked plainly, "are you not going to do it?"

She waited a few seconds and did not receive an answer from Wallace. Seeing that he was also not going to answer this, she suddenly turned cold and looked at Wallace with a threatening glance and continued, "ok then I will let you off. But you are to never mess with commoners again. Don't ever mess with them or else..."

Wallace was completely dumbfounded, this girl dared to threaten him?

When he lost the bet, he was completely humiliated and did not want to bow down and apologize to a commoner. He now held a grudge against Aurora and was looking for an opportunity to get revenge. Fortunately, she decided to threaten him which gave him a chance to come back and now get revenge.

"Or else what?" Wallace responded with an evil grin.

"You'll find out," said Aurora as she nonchalantly replied walking towards Leo without even looking at Wallace.

Seeing that he was ignored, Wallace was completely infuriated. He was the prestigious son of a clan head, his clan was the second strongest in Sapphire City, he had never been ignored in his life and always tended to. This had made his mind blow up completely.

He walked off and rejoined the crowd; this was a huge ceremony and he could not affect this ceremony or else the consequences would be dire.

Thomas was in the crowd and was in complete shock. Back when he was protected by Leo and Aurora, he was already very thankful and surprised that a commoner like him was protected. And when Aurora told him that she was a peasant, he was completely lost. And as the cherry topping on the cake, when Aurora received a ten-ringed gold affinity, his mind that was already at the point of insanity was completely crushed. He was scared but thankful as he did not make enemies with the duo. He slowly walked towards them after hearing the exchange of words between Aurora and Wallace.

Seeing that the situation had become calm again, the officiator continued, "Next! Leon Areia!"
