Chapter 27: Miracles Do Happen

Screams could be heard from a mile away it seemed. All the birds fleed from the nearby brush. Simon thought he had gone deaf, but he knew going deaf for the miracle that was happening was worth it.

Eariler Lucy began to mention some back pain while they were at the house. Simon knew his wife's due date was drawing near and started to bring her to the hospital. She was laid upon a soft cot, and made as comfortable as possible, because what was coming next wasn't going to be comfortable in the slightest.

Lucy screamed as the doctor barked instructions to the nurses and to Lucy. Lucy felt relief when she felt a warm mass released from her body followed by a gentle cry. The doctor cried out from beneath the blanket that Lucy couldn't see over. Simon looked at his wife, still gorgeous drenched in sweat, rolling down her face forming a collar of sweat along her neck.

They had discussed the possibile baby names they could use. They decided a name if it was a boy, and a name for a girl. The couple didn't know their child's sex yet. They could've used magykic to check but wanted an element of surprise.

"It's a boy!" cried the doctor. Simon had a smile of pure bliss on his face. His eyes locked with Lucy's tired yet elated face. "Ben. Benjamin, Leon, Heap." The moment of pure tranquility was ruined by a piercing howl. Lucy was clawing the bed just like she'd done previously.

"Lucy?! Are you okay, what's going on?" Lucy screamed again. The doctor checked under the blanket. When his face was visable his face was pale. "What's wrong?!" Simon was desperate for answers. The doctor quickly explained that Lucy was pregnant with twins and the second baby will be harder to deliver.

Simon was escorted by one of the nurses, that he seemed to vaguely recognize and shooed outside the operation  room. Magykic and physik were used to aid the delivery but Simon didn't know which combinations of which spells and potions created the eased childbirth.

After what seemed like a millenium, but was actually a few hours, Simon was let into the room. "It's a girl, a beautiful baby girl." whispered Lucy as Simon scooted next to her bedside. "What did you name her?" Simon muttered, in awe of hig daughter's radiating beauty, cradled in Lucy's arm next to Ben, giving off a spell of graceful strength. "Harmony, Alice, Heap." Simon was starstruck by his daughter's name. It slipped right on the tongue and it fit his daughters persona.

Simon and Lucy stayed there, holding each other, one newly largened family. Tears of joy fell from the eyes of the new parents, splashing gently onto both Benjamin and Harmony's checks'. Life was absolute.

A/N: As you can see I am really trying to cram out some chapters, even though I should be working on some projects, whoops. Ah well. All for my faithful readers, thanks guys and gals.
