I Love You Forever

Chapter 2

Sophia's POV:

The sun is setting, and the guys collected some woods to start the bonfire. Ally and I both changed out of our wet clothes, but still a little damped from our bathing suits underneath. I found a spot and set my beach chair down while looking at everyone getting settled. Ally is sitting next to her mate, Brian. They found out they are mates earlier this year when they turned 18. Beta Dave flipped out, but finally realized there was nothing he can do about it.

A mating bond is special and powerful between two people destined to be together. It's a special gift from the Moon Goddess herself and is a sacred hold two people will have with each other forever.

I smile looking at Ally and Brian together. Brian is interlocking is fingers in Ally's soft light brown hair while speaking to her. They look so happy together and I am glad Ally found the love of her life.

It kills me to see my dad hurting without my mom. I don't know what it's like to lose your mate, let alone have one, but my dad's eyes are always filled with pain. I know he hides it from me because he is trying to be strong for the both of us. Little does he know; I am the one trying to be strong for him.

"Hey, Soph!" I looked up to see Jaxon setting his chair next to me.

Jaxon and I dated our junior year of high school and I broke up with him before our senior year started. He's a sweet guy and have always treated me right. After my mom passed away, I felt like I needed a breather and to stay focused on my last year of high school. Also, Jaxon can be clingy and it wasn't helping me grieve. He was upset when I broke it off, but he understood. We are still good friends.

"Hey Jax" I replied. "How's it going?"

"Good, how about you?"

"Same" I smiled

"Want a sm-" Jaxon was asking but was interrupted.

"JAAXON, can you help me with this please? My marshmallow is burning?" Lindsay whined.

Lindsay is something else. She's been throwing herself at Jaxon since we were pups. She would shake her ass and flip her blonde hair every time she walks past by him. She's a weird one alright, but she's also a good friend of mine. Oddly, I never felt jealous of her.

Jaxon let out a sigh, "I'll be back" he said and walked over to help Lindsay. I chuckled and shook my head.

"Anyone got any good ghost stories?" Derek asked as he plops down on the sand next to me on the other side

"How about a clown one?" Damian teased. We all started laughing as Derek pouted

"That's not funny" Derek replied

"I got one" Damian said. Everyone went back to their spots and listened as Damian started the story. "Her name was Casimira and she was the Luna to this pack, the Ocean Howls, many moons ago. One night, the pack was under attack and the Alpha, her mate, was killed. Casimira went crazy after her mate died and she drowned her 2 pups in the ocean and herself after. People say they can hear her at nighttime calling out for her mate. Some have said they have seen her walking on water with her 2 pups beside her, all blue and cold."

"No way, this can't be real." Derek said shaking his head

"Okay, fine then" Damian replied. "Go out there by the water and check it out for yourself if you don't believe me."

"I will" Derek said getting up

Derek started walking down to the water and kept turning back to look at us. We all know he is scared shitless, but wants to prove he's not afraid of anything. He turns back around to face the ocean as his feet touches the water.

"See, there's nothing" He turns around to look at us and shrugs his shoulder

"SHE'S RIGHT BEHIND YOU!" Damian yells

Derek turns around and was immediately met with no other than Jaxon, with white a sheet covering himself and only his head peaking out. Jaxon jumps onto Derek and crossed his legs around Derek's waist. Derek started screaming like a girl and we all started cracking up. Derek falls to the ground, laying on his back, with Jaxon on top of him.

"Oh, hold me Derek! Please hold me!" Jaxon said in a woman's voice and planted a kiss on Derek's cheek.

"GET OFF OF ME!" Derek yelled. Jaxon got up and continued to laugh while holding out a hand to help Derek up. "That was not funny!" Derek said in anger

"Oh, little brother that shit was hilarious!" Ally said laughing

"I'm telling dad!" Derek splatted over to us sounding like a 10 year old boy. He started running towards the forest to get back to the pack house.

"YOU BETTER NOT!" we all yelled and ran after him.

"CATCH ME IF YOU CAN!" Derek yells back at us

We all started running after him and shifted once we enter the forest. We followed each other on the path, leaping, and jumping over broken tree branches. 10 minutes later, we shifted back onto the open field where our pack house stood in the middle. We started making our way to the house and noticed my dad standing on the porch with his arms crossed.

"Casimira?" he asked us questioningly. We all pointed at Jaxon and Damian and they both held their hands up in defense.

"It was just a joke, Alpha Ryan" Damian spoke

"Yeah, we didn't know he was going to get that scared" Jaxon said after

"And was he "that" scared?" My dad asked.

We all nodded our heads and a smile formed on dads face. I know my dad wasn't mad because he was a prankster himself back in the days. At least that's what he told me. He told me one time him and Beta Dave took grandpa's car for a joyride when they were 14 years old and crashed into a tree. Grandpa wanted to kill him!

"Good!" he said and smirked right back at us. Everyone let out a breath of relief and I shook my head at my dad. My dad is a great Alpha. He maybe strict, but he is also fun and awesome.

We all sat at the big dinner table and chitchatted while we scarfed down some junk food. Derek came to join us when he wasn't mad anymore. After a little while we all decided to part ways and get ready for bed. Since summer started, dad has been making us get up early to train in the mornings just in case we get attack again. I hope we never have to go through that again, but with this life we never know.
