Kageyama started to walk to Hinata's home, drumming his fingers on his bag. Tonight wasn't too cold or loud thankfully so he was calm as he walked. As he approached the house he noticed that the car wasn't in the driveway and that all of the lights were off. Maybe the car was in the garage?

He walked up the stairs silently and knocked on the front door. A small ginger peered through the window next to the door and then disappeared. The door opened to reveal Natsu crying, looking away from the door.

"Natsu? Why are you crying?" Kageyama bent down and reached out a hand. "What happened?" Natsu latched onto Kageyama, still crying. "Oh…"

"I found Nii-chan on the floor in his bathroom and mommy won't let him go to the hospital when I said he was super sick. He won't stop crying."

"Take me to him Natsu." Natsu led Kageyama down the hallway and opened her brother's door. Kageyama thanked her and walked to the shaking mass on the bed. "Hinata?"

Hinata didn't answer or come out of beneath the blankets. He just kept shaking.

Kageyama put a hand under the blankets and tapped hard enough to where it was audible. A hand grabbed his and he sighed. "Alright. What-"

"I'm cold."

"What?"

"Please-" Hinata started coughing and clutched Kageyama's hand tighter. "Call Suga."

"Alright." Kageyama pulled out his phone and held it to his ear.

"Hey! You figure out what happened?"

"He's asking to talk to you."

"What happened?"

"His mother won't take him to the hospital. He says he's cold." Kageyama slid his phone under the blankets.

Hinata grabbed it, letting go of Kageyama. "Suga?"

"Hey. What happened?"

"I-I threw up yesterday and-" Hinata started coughing. "I passed out. My mom doesn't want to take me to the hospital."

"How do you feel right now?"

"I'm so cold Suga… this doesn't feel right anymore. I don't like this."

"Okay." There was a soft thud and footsteps. "Daichi, call an ambulance to Hinata's home. Quickly."

"I'm cold."

"I know. Trust me I know. Kageyama get him and hold him."

"Alright." Kageyama reached under the blankets and pulled Hinata out. Hinata clutched to Kageyama, shaking. Kageyama held him closer, trying to calm him.

"Okay. Daichi's called. Stay where you are. Hinata, help is on the way. It's alright. You don't have to do this anymore."

Hinata whimpered, folding in on himself. "Ow… ow… ow…"

Kageyama stared, confused.

"That's probably his stomach... Ah. Okay." Sugawara sighed. "Just wait until the paramedics get there. They'll know what I'm thinking about."

"Okay." Kageyama pressed a kiss to Hinata's dry hair. "Hinata…"

Hinata shook harder, crying. Natsu peeked into the room and Kageyama shook his head. She rushed away, taking the hint.

"Hey Hinata… take a deep breath. Just focus on Kageyama for a moment."

"T-trying."

"Good. Whatever you do, don't forget to breathe."

Hinata eased up a bit and held onto Kageyama. He let air into his lungs slowly, still shaking and cold. Kageyama rubbed his back, watching. A paramedic entered the room and a few others did as well. Hinata looked up and let out a stuttering breath. "Help."

****

Sugawara looked up from his chair and sighed. "So she wouldn't let you come to the hospital because she wanted to make you better?"

"Yes." Hinata gulped and shivered. Kageyama eased under the blankets next to him, careful not to touch any of the equipment hook to the ginger. "She practically forced me to eat two more times and then left for work."

"You threw up again after that, didn't you?"

"Yeah…"

"Jesus Christ." Sugawara fixed Hinata's tube again. "So you're just cold? Not scared or anxious?"

"I'm not anything right now I guess." He raised the arm without an IV and Kageyama slipped under it, holding Hinata.

"No, you are something. It's okay."

Hinata closed his eyes, breathing steadily. Kageyama looked up. "Hinata?"

"Hm?"

"Are you going to fall asleep?"

"No. My body hurts."

Kageyama nodded and started rubbing his stomach gently.

Sugawara looked up and held out an arm and Daichi sat down, pulling him close. "You okay?"

"Thinking." Sugawara stated softly. Daichi nodded and kissed the top of his head.

He looked at Hinata. "Are you okay?"

"Mhm." Hinata opened his eyes. "Where is my sister?"

"She's with Asashi. Don't worry, he's taking care of her."

Hinata nodded. Kageyama sat up a bit and looked into Hinata's eyes. Carefully, he held his cheek and Hinata smiled weakly. "Hey."

"Hinata do you feel safe at your home?"

"Um…" Well how do you explain things to someone who hasn't gone through it? Hinata sighed. "Sometimes."

"Explain."

"Hm." Hinata tensed and coughed. Kageyama tilted his head. "I'm fine. Just coughing."

"Hinata, sorry in advance." Kageyama sighed. "But you've gotten thinner. It's not good."

"Quit that." Sugawara said quickly. He detached from Daichi and held Hinata up. "We're going to start making rules, okay? First rule, don't tell him he's getting thinner. Second rule, ask what's wrong instead of are you okay."

"O-okay."

Hinata coughed again, shivering. "Down."

"Sorry." Sugawara set him back down carefully. The ginger latched onto Kageyama and stayed there. "We won't talk about it unless you want to but-"

"Shoyo!" Sugawara visibly cringed before he got up and walked out. Hinata's mother walked to the bed and tore him away from Kageyama.

"M-mom don't do that! Please let me go!"

She let go and sat down. "Are you okay?"

Hinata backed away from her and latched back onto Kageyama. "Get out!"

"Shoyo don't yell at me. Why are we back here?"

"GET OUT! GET OUT! GET OUT!" Hinata screamed. He looked terrified, trembling and holding onto Kageyama tighter. Daichi looked back into the room from the hallway and his eyes widened. Hinata's mother tried to approach the bed again but Hinata shrunk back, glaring. "I don't want you!"

"Why are you acting like this?" She whispered.

From the hallway Sugawara could hear her. He took in a deep breath before stepping into the room. Now he didn't usually come off as aggressive unless he had reason. And this was good reason.
