The Five: Elementals

I found myself twisting and turning unable to sleep, everyone else was already out and I was the only one awake.

Sighing I lifted Danielle's head off my legs and got out of bed, I grabbed my robe from the door and pulled it on.

deciding to walk around so I can rid myself of excess energy I made my way downstairs.

You need your rest daughter, tomorrow will be a very long day

Trust me I know...but for some reason I can't sleep.

He didn't respond so I decided to dig through the fridge for some type of snack, grabbing some strawberries and cool whip I sit down at the kitchen island.

"You sure you wanna be eating that?" A voice said annoying me and melting my heart at the same time.

"I mean considering the fact that you want to fit into your dress tomorrow" I roll my eyes shoving food in my mouth.

"You sure you want to be aggravating me?" I say turning around to face Ryan, he was leaning against the counter with his muscled arms crossed over his bare chest.

I turned away quickly feeling my cheeks heat up.

"Why are you awake?" He asks and I don't have to look to know that he's standing besides me, instead I push a strawberry in the cool whip.

"I couldn't sleep" I say finally, "why are you up?" I ask my attention still on the strawberries.

He sighs before placing his hands on my arms, my mind tells me to pull away but my heart refuses. "I was thinking" he said nonchalantly rubbing my arms.

I closed my eyes and relished in the feeling of his touch "about" I say my voice barely above a whisper.

"You" the words pass through his lips so easily and I turned around quickly to find him directly in front of me.

"Look Ryan, I'm sor-" he cuts me off placing a finger over my lips.

"You've already told me your sorry" he says taking a step closer. I hadn't realized my predicament until now, Ryan had me completely pinned against the kitchen island with no where to turn.

The intensity of his gaze had my heart racing a mile a minute, he was so close I could feel his breath fan across my face.

His hands snake around my back staying in place and I had to remind myself to breath "w-what are you gonna do?" I ask my gaze falling to his lips.

He smiles slightly before roughly pulling me flush against him "we shouldn't be doing this" I say my voice barely above a whisper.

"Are you gonna stop me?" He asks and I can hear the plea in his words, I shake my head no and before I could react he crashed his lips against mine, our tongues fought for dominance and I eventually gave in allowing him total control of the kiss.

I let my hands roam up his sides and around his neck before entangling them in his silky thick hair, and I couldn't help but think that this will likely be the last time I ever kiss Ryan again.

I pulled away slowly still keeping my arms around his neck to catch my breath, my eyes still on his slightly swollen lips.

I could already feel tears building up at the thought but I pushed them away, I won't let this ruin my time with him now.

I opened my mouth to speak but he beat me to it "I know" He says sweetly and despite the nervousness in my stomach I smile.

"Let's go upstairs" I whisper he looks relieved although he didn't waist time in grabbing my hand and leading me up the stairs and to his room.
