"You need to go clothes shopping." Jane greeted Sirius as he entered the house.
"What's wrong with my clothes?" Sirius asked.
"They're too big for you for a start, where did they come from." Ollie commented from the doorway.
"They were Dudley's." Sirius replied.
"No, I can't be seen with you looking like that, we have to go clothes shopping at some point." Jane decided. Sirius sighed.
"Can we at least wait until Hannah and the others are here, she'll kill me if we go without her." He asked, Jane looked him up and down, shook her head and left to go back into the kitchen. "I don't look that bad, do I?" Sirius asked Ollie, feeling suddenly self-conscious.
"How old is Dudley?" Ollie didn't answer Sirius' question.
"Fourteen." Sirius replied with a shrug, "what does that have to do with anything."
Ollie was frowning critically at him. "Nothing, you could just do with clothes that fit you."
"They do fit me." Sirius pulled at his oversized t-shirt. "See, I'm wearing it."
"That doesn't mean it fits you properly." Ollie told him. "Where've you been anyway?"
"Just wandering around, I don't go many places." The boy shrugged. "Rome is weird."
"Its old." Ollie said as though that explained it.
"So is Aro, that doesn't make him any less weird." Sirius replied, heading towards the stairs.
"He'll know you said that." Ollie called after him. Sirius stopped.
"That doesn't make it any less true." He said back before finally making it to the room he had been assigned.
It was the first time he had had an entire room to himself, and to top it off he had his own ensuite. The silence of the first night had been very overwhelming to him, but now he was used to it. Although he didn't particularly like it.
He didn't mind being alone, but he had spent so much of his life sharing his space with someone else that he didnt quite know what to do about having his own.
And what was going on with Aro? Could he trust Elias? And if he could, could he trust Aro, Ollie and Jane? He didn't know, he could maybe talk to Lianna, but he didn't know whether he could trust her either, although she helped him find his prophecy... There were too many possibilities and not enough certainties.
Sirius sighed and lay back on his bed, it was a double, which he liked a lot, it was more space than he had ever had before, he had a wardrobe to himself and a desk he could use the whole of without someone complaining about him being messy. He liked it, but it didn't feel like home.
Yes, at the Dursleys he slept in the corner of his room on a mattress, but it was his, he had harry and all their stuff and it felt like home. Maybe because it was all he knew.
At least he had Spark, his owl, who had been diligently carrying correspondence from Sirius to his friends and to Harry. He had kept in contact with Harry this summer so far, who had written to him in length about how excited he was to be accompanying the Weasleys to the Quidditch world cup. Sirius was happy for his brother, he knew that Quidditch meant a lot to him, but he was still worried about his brother.
Harry kept having strange dreams, all related to you-know-who and Peter Pettigrew, Sirius thought it was just paranoia, but advised his brother to tell Hermione and Sirius Black, Harry's godfather, as they might have a better understanding of these things.
Sirius himself had not mustered the courage to contact his own godfather, nor had Lupin yet written to him, although it was only the first week of the holidays so Sirius wasn't too bothered. The situation with Lupin was weird, Sirius wasn't entirely sure about having a godfather, but as long as Lupin didn't bother him, he assumed it would be alright.
He sat on his bed, before pulling the book Ollie had given him off his night stand. It was called tales of beedle the bard, Ollie knew Sirius didn't read a lot, but had thought he might like them. He was right, Sirius was enjoying them, they were like the wizarding equivalent of muggle fairy stories, sometimes if the house were quite enough, Sirius and Harry could hear Aunt Petunia reading the stories to Dudley, and when they were being looked after by Mrs Figg, she would sometimes tell them stories.
"Hey, what are you doing?" Ollie appeared at the door. Sirius looked up.
"Reading." He shrugged, he was still wary of Ollie and Jane, and he could tell that Ollie was hurt about the way he was acting.
"Are you okay?" Ollie came to sit beside him on his bed.
"Gideon completely died this morning." Sirius said, "he's a ghost now." He was a little in shock from the days events, but only told Ollie what had happened to avoid letting on that he was having doubts about putting his trust in him.
"That must have been hard, I know you've spent a lot of time with him and Lianna." Ollie was sympathetic, he was always understanding, or tried to be, it was one of the things Sirius liked about him.
"It was nice to talk to him properly." Sirius replied, then he sighed. "Ollie can I be honest with you?"
Ollie frowned, looking rather surprised. "Of course."
"I'm terrified." He told him. "I don't know what I'm doing, I don't know who to trust, I'm a mess."
"Its going to be alright, you have to trust your instincts a bit more. You can trust me as well Sirius, you really can." Ollie told him. Sirius nodded.
"I know." He replied, but he didn't confirm whether or not he actually trusted him.
"Alright, I'm going to start making dinner, I'll let you know when its ready." With that Ollie left him alone.

That night, Sirius awoke to a tapping at the window, assuming it to be an owl, he stumbled across to open the window and found himself face to face with Elias."Hello darling." Elias climbed in through the now open window.
"What in Merlin's name are you doing?" Sirius was just staring at him, he wasn't sure what to do.
"I came to see you." Elias said as though it was obvious.
"If he catches you, he'll probably kill you." Sirius said, he wasn't sure about Elias, but that didn't mean he wanted to see him hurt.
"Well then you better help me." Elias grinned at him, Sirius was sure he was enjoying it.
"Why do I have to help you?" Sirius asked with a frown, he was tired and all he wanted to do was go back to sleep.
"Would you rather he kill me?"
"No." Sirius sighed. "What do you want?"
"I want to start over, be friends." Elias said. "I realise now I shouldn't have done what I did." He stuck his hand out. "Can we start over?"
"Alright." Sirius nodded and shook his hand. "I'll get you a blanket or something." He set up a rough bed for Elias on the floor, Elias grinned at him and climbed into bed. "Just don't get caught."
Sirius couldn't help but feel glad that Elias was there, it meant he wasn't alone and he had someone else to talk to, who would try to convince him that Aro was always right.
