Sirius sat up with a gasp, he had just dreamt the events of the Quidditch world cup, where the death eaters had attacked. He had let out a yell without realising it, and soon Cedric came in, having heard him shout. He was sat gasping for air, tears rolling down his face as the images of muggles being tortured stuck in his mind. Had Cedric seen this? Or was it information collected from his father, Amos.
"Sirius?" Cedric came to sit beside him. "What's wrong?"
Sirius didn't reply, he just threw his arms around Cedric, gripping the material of the shirt he was wearing tightly in his hands.
"Its okay." Cedric told him, shifting Sirius onto his lap so it was comfortable for both of them. "Its okay, it was just a dream."
Sirius said nothing, he couldn't stop crying, his dream playing over and over in his mind. He couldn't stop that either.
"Shhh." Cedric was desperately trying to calm him down. "Its okay, its okay." He began to play with Sirius' hair, hoping it might calm him.
It took a long time, but at last Sirius began to calm down, still wrapped tightly in Cedric's arms.
"Hey, it's okay." Cedric said again, as Sirius stopped crying. "Will you be alright?"
Sirius just shook his head, everytime he closed his eyes he could see the muggles being tortured.
"You wanna stay with me?" Cedric offered, Sirius nodded numbly. "Alright, come on." He got up, taking Sirius' hand and leading him across the landing to his own room. Through the dark, he could still see the fear on his face. He climbed into bed and pulled Sirius after him, wrapping his arms around the boy immediately afterwards. "Get some sleep okay? I'll be right here the whole time." He promised. Sirius nodded.
"Okay."

Sirius awoke in Cedric's arms, the brown-haired boy's arms were wrapped tightly around his waist, Sirius smiled, he felt so safe, like nothing could hurt him. He was so lucky to have people he felt so safe with. Cedric mumbled something shifting in his sleep. Sirius smiled again, and was about to close his eyes when he felt pain rip through his body. Aro stood in the corner of the room, wand pointed at him."Stop, please stop." Sirius whispered, Aro did so.
"You have one last chance boy, I will send you a note during the school year, if you disobey me then, you will wish you were never born." Aro replied. "Crucio."
The pain was worse the second time, and Sirius could barely stop himself from crying out, but he managed to do so. The pain disappeared when Aro did.
"Morning." Cedric mumbled, opening his eyes. "You feeling better?" Sirius just nodded, not trusting himself to speak. "That's good." Cedric closed his eyes again, going back to sleep, but Sirius couldn't. What did Aro want?
A little while later, Cedric woke up again. "Hey, you okay?"
Sirius nodded. "Yeah."
"That's good." Cedric said, he rolled onto his back, pulling Sirius with him. "Can you believe I'm going into sixth year?"
"That's mad." Sirius agreed. "Hey how did you do on your O.W.L.s?"
"Passed with flying colours, at least they weren't cancelled this year." Cedric laughed.
"True. I can't remember the last time we did exams." Sirius nodded, he was content just to lay there with his friend, but he knew it wouldn't last. They couldn't stay there forever. Although he really wanted to.
"I wonder what trouble your brother will get into this year." Cedric mused.
"I dread to think." Sirius replied, Cedric laughed loudly.
"You say that like you don't have your fair share of mischief."
"What? Me? Never!" Sirius pretended to be offended, but couldn't keep it up before laughing. Cedric smiled at him, as though him laughing was the best thing he had ever seen.
"Sirius, I'm so glad I decided to talk to you on your first day, most third years wouldn't have bothered with first years, but then I wouldn't have met you."
"It would have been a shame." Sirius agreed sarcastically.
"Hey!" Cedric pretended to be upset but he knew Sirius was joking with him. "You're so mean."
"I'm mean! You keep calling me short!"
"You are!"
"Ceddie!"
"Siri- did you just call me Ceddie?"
"Maybe."
"That is the cutest thing ever." Cedric laughed. "Does that mean I get a nickname?"
"Hmmm." Sirius pretended to think. "Maybe."
"Always so cryptic." Cedric shook his head. Not once throughout their whole exchange had he loosened his grip on Sirius, as though he preferred to have the boy near to him.
"Only for you." Sirius paused. "Ceddie."
Cedric grinned. "I love it, I really do."
"Sure."
"I do!"
