Chapter 8: Help me

A couple more weeks passed. January faded away and the air began to gradually lose its frosty ambiance.
Taehyung and Ella spent more time together. Their bond grew and their knowledge about each other broadened with every outing.
The two friends went out to the movies, for picnics and there were the frequent visits to Elmo's pub.
But they rarely visited the roof top as much anymore. Nothing extraordinary had come about their lives just as yet.
Ella continued to live her life the way she wanted to. She remained a self sufficient woman. She had a wonderful job, a warming love life and passion to fulfill her dreams.
She was a happy woman.
And it seemed like her positivity had rubbed off on Taehyung. There were times where he had wished to hide away from the world, but those feelings came only twice a week now.
He was getting better. He was trying to get better. He could say that for most days.
But not today.
As soon as Taehyung had woken up, he could feel his heart as heavy as ever. It seemed to be conditioned to be that way every year.
He immediately called sick at work and laid down on his bed.
He knew what today was.
5th February.
It would have been his and Sue's fifth year anniversary.
Her name echoed in his brain. His eyes welled up in their first batch of tears.
God, he missed her.
He couldn't help but admit with every part of his being.
He felt two of the most strongest emotions for that girl. Love and hate.
He loved her for everything she had done for him, for everything that she had made of him. He had loved her from the beginning and there was no way he could stop now.
He hated her because in the end, after all those promises and wishes, it was her alone who got a happy ending. He was left to rot in the dark.
How was she doing now? He had no idea.
Two years and he was still stuck in the same spot. He had thought that he had improved, but it seemed like the world was playing tricks on him again.
The entire day passed away into nothing. He couldn't get up from his bed. His mind became preoccupied with all the things he would have done for her if she was still here.
Yes, he hated her for what she did. But he needed her like he needed air. He needed to touch her, hug her, kiss her. He needed to hear her voice and look into those magical eyes again.
Stop it. It's been two years. Get over it already.
He scolded himself, but his heart scrunched itself in pain. His tears never seemed to stop. He gripped his bed sheets, trying to calm himself down.
Maybe I need a walk.
For the first time that day, Taehyung had gotten up from his bed and walked out the door. He didn't bother to change out of his pajamas. He had squinted his eyes to face the sun but was instead greeted by the dark.
It was evening already.
The poor man reassured himself. He began his quiet stroll. There were a few people out on the streets, but it didn't seem to bother him as much.
Taehyung kept his head to the ground as he walked and walked. He had made a big mistake by lifting his head. His eyes caught on to those beautiful stars that had made their way twinkling in.
He was instantly reminded of her eyes. They seemed like the stars.
He should have known. Even the smallest things triggered him now.
His knees gave up on him as he dropped down on the ground. His heaving became uneven as he gripped the ground. His lungs were slow in their function as he tried to focus on his breathing. But all those tears and memories that blinded his vision made it so difficult.
He was having a panic attack. He could feel it.
I feel like I'm gonna die.
With whatever energy that was left in him, he brought out his phone and called out the first person that came to his mind.
His hand shook uncontrollably and his voice quivered as he spoke desperately into the phone.
"E-Ella, please help me."
