Chapter 10: Neon lights

A few days went by. Taehyung tried his best to pick himself back up.

All those days of hard work and living in peace came crashing down because of that one fateful day. Despite his breakdown, Taehyung barely remembered anything.

The last thing that he did remember was Ella picking him up from the floor. He was somehow on his bed the next day.

The rest of the week went into distancing himself from everyone. He had to work on himself. He didn't go to work. He didn't call Ella.

And surprisingly Ella didn't call to check on him either. He never heard from her after that.

It was the starting of the next week when Taehyung decided to contact his friend. But her phone was switched off.

Weird. She always picked up her phone.

That was only the beginning. Taehyung went searching for his missing friend. It seemed like Ella had wiped herself from the planet.

He had then found out that she hadn't showed up to work for a week. According to the security guard, she hadn't come up to the roof top in a long time. Her phone was untouched.

Taehyung was helpless. He had no clue where she lived, he didn't know how to contact that boyfriend of hers. He would even walk to Han river at three o'clock in the morning in hopes of finding her.

But all his efforts were in vain.

She had disappeared from the face of the earth.

The man started to grow worried. He had forgotten his own problems during that time.

Where was she? Was she okay?

After all his time spent on futile searching, Taehyung's mind remembered two words.

Elmo's pub.

With no hesitation, he ran up to the bar. It was his only chance of finding her. The pub was crowded just as usual. Taehyung pushed and shoved until he reached their bartender.

"Hey, have you seen Ella?"

"Yeah, she came in here a couple of hours ago. She's upstairs now."

The club? What was Ella doing in the club? She disliked that place.

Taehyung climbed the stairs hastily. His mind set on finding the lost girl. She was his one and only friend. If anything had happened to her, he didn't know what he would do.

As soon as he stepped foot in the dark place, his eyes shut closed. The lights were blinding, the atmosphere was moist and the music could burst an eardrum.

Taehyung tried to smoosh his way through the sweaty bodies. His nose scrunched in disgust as the heavy scent of alcohol and smoke filled the air.

People danced their way in. They wished to live off of ecstasy for one night. Taehyung wondered why he'd never come to a place like this to lose himself.

His eyes searched and searched.

And just when he was on the verge of giving up, his eyes landed on the familiar sight of wavy brown hair. He sighed in relief.
