"Nathan?" I heard someone call my name.

I was surrounded by absolute darkness and I could barely see anything at all.

All I kept pn hearing were sounds of people talking that got relatively louder and louder as they continued.

A while later, slowly opened my eyes and beheld a brilliant light.

"Am I dead?" I asked whoever was around.

"You almost were." Someone replied.

Everything slowly became clearer and clearer and it was then that I saw a strange face in front of me.

"Where am I?" I asked.

"Hospital." The person replied.

I shifted my gaze around and then I saw a cream tag on the man's left side of the lab coat.

Judging by his appearence it was automatic that he was a doctor.

The tag spelt out his title along with his name DR. GLADSTONE.

I sat up in my bed and leaned against my pillow.

"Take it easy." The brown haired man who appeared to be in his mid forties said.

At that very moment, I heard the door open abruptly.

That very instant, both of us turned to look at the door and just after it was flung open, Katie's head popped up.

"Nathan?" She called my name as she ran in as Mrs. Bell followed.

"Nate." She said out loud once again and then hugged me coming in between our conversation.

She was in tears and she was upset, I could tell from how bitterly she wept.

"What were you thinking, I nearly lost you." Katie said as she tightened her arms around me.

"I am sorry, I am in deed so sorry." Was all I could say to her at that very moment.

"I just couldn't come to terms with the truth." I added in a low and miserable tone.

Katie pulled apart but Mrs. Bell looked so upset and disappointed as she seemed to study my condition with her eyes.

"I think I shall leave you to talk for a while." The doctor said.

"Thank you Dr. Gladstone." Mrs. Bell said as she shook the doctor's hand.

The man shook hers calmly and then eventually let it go.

At once, the man made an exit and the three of us were left inside the room alone.

Mrs. Bell turned to me in a fit of rage that I could see anger exploding behind her eyes.

"Nathan, tell me what exactly it was that you were thinking." Mrs. Bell demanded.

"I am sorry." Was all I could say.

"If you can not accept and say what it was that you were doing you will never feel guilty.

You will keep on trying to do the same thing over and over until eventually there won't be someone to save you." Mrs. Bell scolded me.

"I thought that it were better off if I had died there." I said.

"So?" Mrs. Bell questioned.

"I attempted to drown myself into the sea." I replied.

"You wouldn't have been any worse than Conan if you did that.

You would have proven that he succeeded in getting to you.

You would have hurt all the people there are left that really love you and would have been the monster that your mother called you." Mrs. Bell said to me.

"I understand my mistake, please forgive me." I pleaded with both as I put my hands together.

"You do not need to ask for our forgiveness, instead, you need your own." Katie said.

I wiped away my tears as my guilt settled in deeply and overwhelmed me.

Mrs. Bell moved to my side and then she sat on the bed beside me.

"Life is not very perfect and it isn't every time that you always get to have what you want.

Most times, we have to fight for what we want and if we give up we lose everything as well." Mrs. Bell said.

"Hmmm." I muttered.

"No one is perfect but our inperfections should not hold us back." Mrs. Bell said.

"They won't hold me back." I said.

"Some things are easier said than done, telling me what you will do is not enough, you need to prove it to me.

There are two kinds of people, those that face everything and run and those that face everything and rise.

Now prove to me and the rest of the world, which of the two categories you belong to." Mrs. Bell said.

I felt so encouraged and at the same time happy that I could feel my grief wane.

There was a new aura of confidence that possessed me and took over my broken mood.

I was remoulded and rejuvenated, I had never felt so strong and powerful in my life before.

"Can I have a hug from both of you?" I asked Katie and Mrs. Bell.

"Sure." They all replied in unison and hugged me.

"That is the spirit brother." Katie said.

I felt so happy.

"Go for it, there is no mountain to big for you to climb and I want you to soar and become the person you are destined to become." Mrs. Bell said.

"Yes." I replied in a jolly tone.

"Do not mourn once but twice, the death of your relationship and the death of an old you.

Look to the future and I can promise you, its august shall remain forever unchallenged.

You shall no more be broken but you shall become a symbol of steadfast greatness and progress.

Conan will regret hurting you and every one will see it as his worst mistake including himself." Mrs. Bell said to me.

"I believe in you Nate and now it is time to believe in yourself." Katie said as well.

I remained there in there warm comfort, a part of my mind in deed firm that what was past was gone.

I made a promise to myself at that very moment that there would never on this earth walk a man to ever break me again.

At that point I admitted to myself, me and Conan could never be a couple and never at any cost would I let that come to pass.
