Chapter 7

Sela woke up, too dark. She tried her best to see but failed.

"Abby? Nasaan ka?"

No answer. Fear enveloped her again.
She called out Abby again.

" Abby?!! Ano ba?! Nasaan ka ba? Abby??!!!! Abby???!!!!! Sumagot ka!!!" Her voice cracked in fear.

She shouted Abby's name again. Naiiyak na sya.

But then, something suddenly light up.

Hinanap nya san nanggagaling ang liwanag. Paglingon nya...

"Fireball?" Pagtataka nya.

It floats and moves in the air. Napatitig dito si Sela. She can't believe it with her eyes. Then she suddenly remembers a scientific explanation for this.

"Santelmo, or Saint Elmo's fire is a weather phenomenon in which luminous plasma is created by a corona discharge, an electrical discharge brought on by the ionization of a fluid such as air surrounding a conductor that is electrically discharge, like from a sharp or pointed object in a strong electric field in the atmosphere.

The voltage in the cloud and the ground tears apart the air molecules and the gas begins to glow. That's how santelmo is created. " Sela told herself.

" Tama Sela, ganun lang yan. It's all because of electric voltage." She keeps on telling herself. " Pero.... " Napatingin sya sa paligid.

Madilim pa rin pero may naliliwanagan naman ang santelmo kaya may natatanaw sya.

"There's no thunderstorm nor volcanic activity! What the fudge!" She realized. "Oh GOD! Abbyy!!! Nasaan ka na ba?!! "Naiiyak na sya lalo. " Lagot ka talaga sakin pag nakita kita. Abelai-"

Napatigil sya nang makita nyang kumilos papunta sa kanya ang santelmo.

"Oh my God! Oh my God! Oh my God!!" She started to run.

Di nya nakikita dinadaanan nya but she kept on going. Not minding anything. She just wants to stay away from that fireball. Pero bumilis din ang kilos ng santelmo sa paghabol sa kanya. She's freaking out.

Napalingon si Sela sa humahabol sa kanya. The moment she saw it, she wished she didn't glanced back. There's an evil scary face on that fireball.

"Ahhhh!!! Mommy!!" She runs faster. Wala na pakelam kung anu man matapakan. Wag lang sya maabutan.

An eerie laugh echoed from her behind. She knows, galing yun sa santelmo. Adrenaline rush. But the sound of laugh gets louder. She knows, malapit na yun sa kanya.

She keeps on running. She puts all her strength to run as fast possible.

But because of darkness, di nya nakita nakausling ugat ng puno sa lupa, bigla sya natisod.

She wounded herself. She tried to get up. But the fireball caught her.

"Sa'n ka pupunta?" A loud eerie voice, cold and thick. Santelmo's there. Di na nya nagawang makatayo pa.

"MOMMYYY!!!!" She covered her face sabay pikit.

Sela heard a voice. She slowly opened her eyes. A beautiful face ang bumungad sa kanya. Worry's written all over that face, and that made her confuse.

"Abby??" Napa blink pa sya ng ilang beses. Napa kusot mata pa, checking if it's really Abby.

She saw some bruises and wounds, she held her cheek. "Ikaw ba talaga to, Abby?"

The girl nodded.

"Good."

At bigla nya hinila arm ni Abby, saka hineadlock. "Ikaw! Ikaw! Grrrr!!! Alam mo ba pinagdaanan ko kanina ha?! Ha? Ngayon lagot ka sakin! Grrr!! "
