EDGE OF TOMORROW

CHAPTER 1

MMASINACHI'S POV

There are times when you have this gut feeling that there's something you have to do but you don't know what it is, well  now is one of those times for me.

I was sleeping when I got up in a haste and I remembered that something's missing, school.
I checked the time on my phone

"Jesus" I ran into the bathroom. I was meant to be at school twenty minutes ago. How could I wake up by 7:50am. I used 15minutes to bath and get dressed.

I went downstairs and saw my mom but no sign of dad.

"Morning mom where's dad"

"He's left already for work"

This means I'm really late. I ran out of the dining room, not without hearing my mom shout after me

"Mma aren't you going to eat" she questioned

"No mom I'm going to eat at the cafeteria at school" I shouted back while running of of the house.

I went out and saw my personal driver leaning against the car. 'Well seems like I'm really late today' I said to myself

"Morning, let's go I'm in a hurry" I said while hopping into the car.
He followed after me and started driving.

I looked up after we had gone a little while.

'We're stuck in traffic, there's no way I'm going to make it to my first class'

'Why did we have to live so far from lekki'

'Why did we have a house in banana island'

'Why not somewhere closer to my school'

I kept asking myself these questions while on the road that I didn't notice I was already at school

"Miss we are here" my driver said distracting me from my thoughts

"Huh, oh school yes thank you" I said stepping out of the car.

I ran towards my class room. I placed my ear on the door, I didn't hear sounds like a teacher talking, okay that's a good sign. I opened the door and took a peep but then all eyes turned to me including the teacher's.

"Um" I cleared my throat while walking into the class. I looked ahead at the teacher.

"Morning sir" I mumbled loud enough for him to hear me

"Morning" he said without giving me a second glance.

'Hmm, how strange. The Mr. James i know will find a way to rub it in' I thought to myself while walking to my seat. I sat down and he proceeded.

"As I was saying 35 minutes ago" he said purposely looking at me and there's no doubt he was referring to me.

"I know I was late no need to rub it in" I mumbled under my breath

"Since you all have finished your exams for this session, you all are free for today but tomorrow you'll be coming back here to collect your dossiers. Since tomorrow is free you can come in whatever you want, it doesn't have to be your uniform" He stopped talking and took a look at all of us.

"Am I clear about that" he questioned looking at us once again

"Yes sir" We all responded

"Okay, Have a good day" he said and walked out of the class

As soon as he stepped out of the class everyone dispersed and started talking. I went over to one of my friends Tori. I sat on her desk and she looked up at me
with a questioning look
