CHAPTER 7

MMASINACHI'S POV

The boys and we; the girls later departed and headed towards our hostels. I can't help but feel like I've led Carys on due to the little show I put on in the hall

I look around the room and see that Zainab is asleep but Kamsy is wide awake and on her phone. I really need someone to talk to so I walk over to her bed and sit on it. She looks up at me

"Hey, are you busy cause I really need someone to talk to" I said in a pretty tensed way that even the dumbest person in the world will know something's up

"No I'm not" she said stopping whatever she was doing on her phone and setting it aside

"So what do you think about Carys and I" I questioned while she just looked at me in this like seriously way

"What, don't look at me in that way, its a simple question that requires an answer" I told her shrugging a little

"O---kay, I think you guys make a cute couple, although I just found out today" she sat the last part looking at me accusingly

"What if a little birdie told you that we were never in a relationship, like its fake, it was all just for show" I kept on emphasizing, trying to tell her everything

"I'll look at the person or more preferably birdie and tell him or her to shove their words down their sorry ass" she replied

I sigh and slump down in the bed. I look up to see her looking at me suspiciously

"Pls don't tell me that you meant what you said" she said while looking at me

"Finally, you get it" I said looking at her

"Why did you have to use Carys" she asked me

"He was the only one I could think of at that time, and moreover he has been giving me signs of you know"

"We all know and now you've led him on, if Carys allows his heart to take over, you'll have to either continue with this relationship or break his heart" she said looking at me with all seriousness

"And that's exactly why I'm here. I need advice" I said looking at her

"In my own opinion, I think you should continue and who knows maybe you will start developing feelings for him" she said looking at me hopefully while I just looked at her like she was crazy

"Listen up, go to bed and give it a lot of thought and if you don't trust my opinion ask another person for and you'll see they'll give you the same reply" she said and I got up from her bed and sat on mine

I laid down while looking up at the ceiling and sighed. I was beyond confused so I decided to scroll through my Instagram feeds. I saw a message from Ini and I smiled inwardly. It's been so long since we last talked

I: hey, are you asleep

M: nahh, I'm wide awake. I've been doing a lot of thinking

I: mind sharing

M: actually no, and I have a question for you

I: okay ask

M: I'm in a hot seat

I: c'mon I'm sure its not that hot and besides its just the beginning of the term, what could possibly go wrong

M: a lot can go wrong. So there is this guy that has feelings for me but I've not reciprocated it yet and in order to get out of the devils claw I claimed he is my boyfriend. Now I've led him on and I don't know to do

I: that's why there is a 'yet'. Don't hurt him go on with it and there is a high possibility that you'll end up with him

M: that's the same advice someone gave me here

I: you see its destiny pulling you both to each other

M: 😒

I: c'mon don't be rude

M: I didn't even say anything

I: emoji's speak louder than words

M: where did you get that statement from

I: why are you asking

M: because it's very dumb coming from you. I mean you seemed smart at first but now I don't think so. Don't ever use it in any of your statements again. Alright baby boy

I: I've used it in a ton and I always get positive vibes but you, you're just a fun sponge

M: 😂😂, speaking of sponges I badly want to watch 'sponge Bob square pants'

I: ewww you still watch that

M: yeah who doesn't

I: I don't

M: no wonder you don't have any sense of humour, go watch it and give me your feedback

I: 😤😤😤

M: haha anyways night night 'Patrick'

M: its just cute nick name. Like I said earlier goodnight😘😘

I: don't blow me kisses😡. I'm angry at you😞😞. You made me sad and you haven't even apologized

M: alright I'm sorry. Is that better now

I: 🙄🙄

M: stop giving it second thoughts

I: alright you're forgiven

M: 😌😌

I: goodnight

M: I already said that to you twice and I'm not repeating it again

I: sorry, repeating what

M: I'm not dumb I know you want me to say 'goodnight' to you but guess what I'm not going to do that

I: but you just did

I looked at my chats and see its true

M: 😱😱 'I didn't know' I hope you noted the sarcasm

M: you're so annoying

I: what, you started it

M: I agree, bye

I: goodnight to you too

I looked at his last statement and smiled but I didn't reply. I switched off my phone and plugged it. I looked upwards and thought to myself  'I'm accepting Carys either way' and soon I traveled far away from my worries
