Chapter 5
Hug
"Good morning, sunshine. Flowers for you." He huskily greeted.
Pupungas-pungas akong bumangon. Matagal kong ipinikit ang mata ko bago muling magmulat. Matthew gave me a smile. May hawak pa siyang bungkos ng bulaklak. Sunflowers, to be exact.
"Uh... what are these for?" naguguluhan ko iyong tinanggap nang i-abot niya sa akin. I combed my messy hair with my fingers.
"Thank you. For last night."
"Eh, hindi naman kailangan, ah. But thank you! How'd you know? It's my favorite! And by the way, are you magaling na?"
"I'm good. Do you want breakfast?" he sat on the bed. Wait, what?
I looked around sleepily. Na-realize kong nasa kama nga ako. His bed!
Akala ko sa sofa ako natulog?
"Uh... why am I here?" naguguluhan kong tanong.
He chuckled. "You almost fell at the couch. Binuhat na kita rito. Don't worry, I slept there instead."
"Oh... okay..." nasagot ko na lang. I froze when he leaned closer and put all my hair behind, making it fall on my back.
"Let's have breakfast?"
"You cooked? You know how to?" gulat kong tanong.
He chuckled. "I don't, so I just ordered. I'll practice cooking so I can cook for you sometimes."
I enthusiastically nodded. Nakalimutan ko na ang inis ko sa lalaking 'to. Why is he... so nice?!
"Thank you..." I smiled, gesturing the flowers he gave me. We just finished breakfast. I helped him clean the dishes bago mamaalam.
"No,... thank you." He chuckled.
Kumaway ako sa kaniya bago ko tuluyang isara ang pinto ng kwarto niya. The day went stressful. Marami akong tinapos ngayon dahil nagkaroon ako ng oras. Biglaan kasing nasuspend ang classes dahil umalis ang Head Mistress, si Mrs. Montereale, at kasama ang professors. I heard it's a seminar or something. Whatever is that, I'm grateful I had the time to do my work.
"Have you heard about the shooting incident sa CH&R yesterday?"
I stopped checking out the book when I heard the students near me talking about our company. What was it about? Shooting incident?
My class just finished and now I'm here at the bookstore to check out some books to read.
"Yeah. Cuerte Hotels & Resorts, right? Muntik na nga raw madamay si Mrs. Carmela Cuerte... my father mentioned."
