Chapter 10
Terrified
"Life was so good back then." I whispered and started scrolling again.
Everything was going well. Malapit na ang foundation week. Abala pa rin kami sa pag-aayos para sa Foundation Week.
"We should've put it like this." I told them while they were setting up the tents for every booth.
"Bes!" napalingon ako sa tumawag. Si Pat.
"Uy, beh. Why? You seem to be in a hurry."
He chuckled. "Kakanta ka sa opening? Finafinalize na kasi ang program."
I shook my head. "Sasayaw na ako. Next event na lang. Si Lucas ata, kakanta, as far as I know." Nagkibit-balikat ako.
"Alright. Thanks!" kumaway na lang ako sa kaniya.
"Won't you sing at the opening?" tanong ko kay Matthew. We're here in my balcony, he was strumming his guitar while I sing along with him.
He shook his head. "Ayoko."
"If it's okay... why?" curious kong tanong.
Umiling lang ulit siya. "I just don't like it... singing in front of many people."
I smiled sadly. "Sayang, I want us to sing pa naman sa opening ng Foundation Week." I pouted. "But it's okay! I understand. No problem. Ayaw kong pilitin ka."
"Well, we could sing together, like right now. But not in front of many people..."
"Really?"
"Yes. Do you have something in mind?"
I smiled. "Terrified."
He shook his head with a smile and started strumming. Sumabay naman ako ng pag-hum sa kaniya.
You, by the light, is the greatest find
In a world full of wrong, you're the thing that's right
Finally made it through the lonely to the other side...
I gave him a sweet smile when he looked at me. Natawa siya sa ginawa ko.
You said it again, my heart's in motion
Every word feels like a shooting star
I'm at the edge of my emotions
Watching the shadows burning in the dark
And I'm in love
And I'm terrified
For the first time and last time in my only life
