"We need two officers to organize the arcade booth." Ate Francine said while writing on the board.
I looked at the list. I can't choose. Should I choose arcade booth or pastry booth? Can we do both, though?
"I will." Napakagat ako sa labi ko nang sabay kaming magsalita ni Matthew. "Just kidding. I'll take care of the pastry booth na lang."
Nakakainis! I volunteered first, bakit nakikigaya siya?! Ugh.
"Sa arcade booth ka na, sis! You mentioned it first!" Daniella gave me a teasing grin. "Ako na lang sa pastry booth, Ate France."
Inirapan ko siya dahil obvious namang inaasar niya ako. This girl!
The meeting went on. The others will take care of the other booths such as the wedding booth, jail booth, photo booth, and many more. We also have food stalls.
As for the program lineup, the SDC or Springfield Dance Company will have a performance. Daniella and I joined the SDC so we'll be part of the rehearsals later.
I was excused for my last class since our call time was 4 pm. I changed into a white shirt, a pair of gray sweatpants and a pair of shoes to be comfortable before going to the studio with Daniella. We're matchy-matchy and she hates it.
Nagkwentuhan lang kami ni Daniella habang nag-iintay sa iba. Pat arrived a bit late. He's part of the SDC ever since his first year. Pero ang ikinagulat ko ay ang pagkasok din ni Lucas at Matthew sa studio. Anong ginagawa ng dalawang 'yan dito?! Hindi naman sila kasali, ah! Last time I checked, they're not on the list!
Lucas winked at me and Daniella when he saw us. The other one was expressionless... as usual.
Kinuha ko ang folder kung nasaan ang pangalan ng members. Nagtitingin-tingin pa lang ako ng tawagin ni Matthew ang attention ng lahat.
"Everyone," he started with a baritone. It made some of the girls squeal silently. Umismid ako at humalukipkip.
"Ms. Garcia won't be able to meet you all today. The professors had an urgent meeting. She asked us to monitor your rehearsals for the meantime." His voice was deep. I rolled my eyes when he gave me a glance. He grinned before facing Pat. "You can start now."
We started with the position. Kung saan ang pwesto ng isa and what-so-ever. Pat assigned me to do the dance steps. Gagawan ko ng dance steps ang kantang napili niya.
I was in the middle of listening to the song and randomly doing a step when I felt someone gazing at me. I looked at the mirror and my eyes found Matthew's. He was sitting across me with his arms crossed over the chest while gazing at me. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay. Ngumisi siya bago umiwas ng tingin, ni hindi man lang nahiya na nakita ko siyang nakatingin sa akin.
Umismid ako at umirap bago nagpatuloy sa paggawa ng steps. Nang matapos ako ay tinuro ko muna ang choreography ng first verse bago kami magkaroon ng short break.
