Hyun Mae's POV
I woke up with a smile plastered on my face. Why wouldn't I smile if the person I see when I wake up is the person I'm in love with.
"Good morning," he said with his morning voice and smiled sweetly.
"Slept well?" I asked and he nodded.
"Any nightmares?"
He shook his head and removed strands of hair away from my face. "Thanks to you."
He hooked his arm around my waist and pulled me close to him. He pressed his lips on my forehead then I burried my face in the curve of his neck. We remained that way for a couple of minutes.
"Will you wait for me?" he asked but I remained silent. I know what that question means. It means that he still can't forget about Hee Young but he can't afford to loose me as well. I looked up to meet his eyes and now our faces are too close.
"Patiently," I answered. He kissed the tip of my nose and hug me tight.
"Thank you," he whispered. "and I'm sorry."
I snuggled closer to him to let him know that it's okay, that I understand. That I'll wait for him no matter what.
"I'll make some breakfast," I said as I pulled away from him and sat down. I looked at him over my shoulder.
"What do you want me to cook?" I asked.
"Anything will do," he answered with a smile.
I stood up and went out of his room but froze from where I'm standing when I saw someone entering the kitchen. His reaction is the same as mine and his eyes widened.
"Hyun Mae? What are you doing here?" he asked, baffled.
Not knowing what to do, I immediately went back inside Dongwoo's room and shut the door behind me. Dongwoo looked at me, confused at my sudden action.
"Hoya's here," I said with my eyes wide open.
Dongwoo's POV
"What?" I asked Hoya when I noticed that he keeps on staring at me.
"If you're thinking that something happened between us last night then forget about it," I said as I flip channels on TV. We are in the living room while Hyun Mae is in the kitchen, preparing breakfast.
"But you slept on one bed??" I simply nodded.
"And nothing happened??! Waaa... You're not a man, dude!" he amusedly said and chuckled after. I gave him a sharp stare and threw the pillow beside me on his face.
"And you call yourself a man?" I chuckled as well.
"Serious talk dude, is it official?" he asked.
I looked at Hyun Mae who's now busy preparing the table. She might have noticed that I'm starting at her so when she looked at me, she smiled. I did the same. She went back in the kitchen to check what she's cooking.
"I don't know, dude. I mean I want it to be official but I feel like... I'm betraying Hee Young," I said and raked my hair with my hand. Hoya scoffed.
"Seriously? Dude, can you clean your ears 'cause I think you're not hearing yourself. Hee Young is dead."
"Will everyone stop telling me that! I'm fully aware that she's... gone," I sighed. "What should I do? My memories of her still lingers in my mind."
"So what now? Are you letting your past haunt you forever and let the present slip out of your hands?" he eyed me as if he's making me realize things.
