Barely anyone spotted how charming Will tried to be to his masked counterpart in the comment section of their latest Eboys video. Some noted that a few smiles of his directed at George were adorable – thankfully not all of them had made the cut or else surely more fans would've picked up on the 'mood check' like glances from time to time.

As the twenty-one-year-old scrolled through them he felt glad to have received such great feedback for the video itself, aware how the boys needed positive reactions on the more creative ideas to be able to go on with high energy levels and ardour. At least he had something to smile about on that dreadful morning.

Drilling awoke him around 7:30 from the flat above. His neighbours were relentless, having thirty second breaks just to resume their clang made it impossible for George to fall back asleep. Although this wasn't the first time he was forced out of dreamland so viciously buying earplugs never crossed his mind before now. Or moving again. Or both? Like come on now, how was this any better than him and his flat-mate laughing at nonsense kid content for YouTube around ten at night?

Speaking of whom, Alex was already up and about George couldn't list two good enough reasons from the top of his head as to why other than the clatter that shook him awake too. Nonetheless, the jocular expression on the younger boy's face leaned against the counter startled the dirty blonde man as he walked into the kitchen to grab a bite.

It's not that George didn't like seeing Alex happy, no not at all. It was just atypical, especially since his friend was not a morning person not even the slightest bit. Or looked this chipper like ever.

"What's got you in such a gnarly mood, then?" The oldest one of the two-man household queried, up on his tiptoes in search of some biscuits in a cabinet.

"Good morning to you too, George." Alex chirped with a hint of sarcasm and amusement in his pitch. ''Nothing, just had a restful sleep is all."

George accepted the coffee offered to him with a smile, not buying Alex's story as he settled on a stool. There was no way he was energetic like so after an approximate five-hour sleep. But hey at least the drilling ceased.

Munching on his store-bought cookie, deep in thought George lost track of most of his surroundings. It was way too early in the day to function properly let alone interact with someone in his defence.

"Oh, and Will's coming over to film later by the way."

Thankfully Alex's voice didn't cause a jump scare since it didn't sound harsh rather prosaic and calm plus George was used to abrupt additional thoughts from him anyways.

Unaffected by the announcement the dirty blonde mumbled. "Alright."

Oh.

Now hold on a second.

Why did George need to know that? Will already spent so much time over it was hard to tell who actually lived in the very flat the boys rented and who was only an (ir)regular guest. Was this why Alex was so overjoyed or was the former reading way too much into such a small thing?

Hoping to seem indifferent and not at all curious George sipped on his coffee for a second before he was able to form a question. "What are you two gonna film?"

"Just a reaction video." Alex shrugged, checking his phone for the umpteenth time that morning. "Why?"

"No reason." George's mind went blank for just a moment, desperate for a witty retort.

His friend rose and eyebrow, finished with his own breakfast, hands against the counter he stood tall – figuratively of course. Oh God, Alex was judging him and definitely thought he was being assertive like someone who craved to have a finger in every pie.
