Misleading Leads

"Where's Henicks?"

"It was past his bedtime, so I made him take a nap."

"Nice"

Dibny gives me a fist bump. We get ready to fight when we hear it, a hyena's laugh.

"Seriously? I just knocked out!"

We look up to see Henicks is crouching on the roof, holding some kind of controller.

"It takes more than a measly punch to the mug to knock me out, kitten."

Giving him a look of disgust and hatred, I turn to my badly battered teammates.

"Let's finally take these asshats down, yeah?"

Suddenly a battle drone comes swooping in. So that's what that's for. I need to get the boys out of here before we all end up as Hyena's clan's next meal.

"Ah shit.... guys go get out of here!"

The battle drone fires a missile at us and I quickly fire a time freeze wave at it, open a breach into the lab, send the boys through, and jump through myself.
Cisco sighs as he watches the missile explode after hitting the ground where we were just standing.

"Soo that was one of you villains? care to share anymore you have?"

"Yeah I'll have Gideon send you the data."

"While you guys were trying to catch them we got a hit from a silent alarm over at Mercury Labs. Looks like Hyena's gang stole a bunch of chemicals and weaponizable tech."

"They keep getting ahead of us. We should see what other stuff they took and see what exactly this stuff can do before going after them. I don't need another incident like before."

"Do you think one of us should stay here to guard the place? In case those jerks come here to release Thawne?"

"They would never be able to, not with all the security protocols, but just in case I'll stay here."

I look up at them as I'm reviewing the tech Hyena's men stole.

"What?"

"Are you sure that's such a good idea? The Legion seems very keen on get their hands on you."

"It's probably because of my relationship with Thawne and my knowledge of future tech. Don't worry they won't catch me off guard this time."

Nash looked at me like he wanted to say something but closed his mouth and nodded.

"Right, well where are you going to sleep?"

"I'll figure it out, it's not the first time I had to sleep in a lab. I'll be okay. I'll either call or text one of you if something goes wrong. Then again if something did I'll be fine."

I feel the interdimensional phone Sarah had given Barry for me to have go off. It was playing 'Legends Never Die'.
How fitting, and nice timing.

"Sup?"

"Hey, love, it's John. We might have problem, and by we, I really mean you."

"Wait, what? What do you mean by 'you have a problem'? Because clearly you haven't met me, problems follow me like a dog chasing a person whose holding a juicy stake."

I hear a slight laugh at the other end and a, "What? It was funny," followed by something plastic being thrown and a loud, "Hey! What was that for?"

"That was for laughing at something we're being serious about, Nate!"

"I take it I'm on speakerphone?"

"How'd you guess? Anyway, it seems one of you rogues followed you from your timeline."

"Actually I think it might just be all four of them really."

I look up as I hear Cisco say, "Four? You have four rogues?! Oh I'm sorry continue."

I sigh.

"Look we just ran into Henicks here. Who else is there, and if you say you ran into one of them in a time travel mishap, I'm not gonna be happy."

"Actually we did."

"Oh greeeaaat, who?"

"Al-Mughawi."

"Oh shit, yeah, she'd be a very good reason to call me. Wait, why can't you subdue her?"

"Because she isn't into my rugged good looks, hard to believe, I know."

Cisco suddenly whispers, "who are you talking about?"

"A immortal evil fox spirit lady."

"Oh."

"Yeah, oh. Anyway she's immortal, this just might be a version of her from a different time. Just be careful. Whatever version of her, she's still highly dangerous. I'd used monk sanctified traps and weapons to stop her."

"Thanks, love, I owe you one."

"Hell yeah, ya do. Be safe Legends!"

As we smiled Cisco's alert system went off.

"CCPD just got a anonymus tip. Apparently Hyena's men were seen at the Central City Zoo. According to the security footage they knocked out all the cameras."

"That's the last thing Hyena needs, a group of hyenas are his back. I got this no need to alert the others."

"Go get 'em Bender."

I run out of there like a bat out of hell. When I get there, I turn the night vision on in my mask as I hear hyena laughter.

"I honestly didn't think this would work, but looks like I owe someone 20 bucks."

I look down to see four of those weird contraptions Henicks had used early. Just as I was about to move they went off, tying me down to the spot.

"You won't get away with this! Team flash will find me!"

"Oh, we certainly hope so Ms. Onyx"

I lifted my head to see none then Lex Luthor stand near by.

"I'm sorry I have to do this, Doctor."

The last thing I see is Henicks snickering before I'm knocked unconscious.
